Alright you green thumb MF'rs, I'm gonna try this again and this time I gots pics, not great pics but pics none the less. I would just like some relatively detailed advice on what Im doing. I built, what I think, is just a fancy ebb and flow but in doing my research I think I may have added some welcome changes. I have 6, 5ft long, 4inch PVC tubes each tube hold 4 plants. The tubes fill from a hole in the bottom at the ends of each tube from a 546 gph pump in a 27 gallon reservoir underneath the frame that holds the tubes. The main pump is big enough that it forces the water up hard enough to keep the water moving inside the tubes. In each tube there is a 3 inch drain pipe that empties back in the reservoir. In each tube I have 2 small air stones hooked to a medium size aquarium pump the airstones add extra oxygen but they also keep the roots in motion but Im not sure if that does anything for the plants. In the reservoir I have 2 small pumps the keep the water circulating along with 2 tank heaters set at 68 degrees. I use HESI Hydro Growth and Bloom. Nothing else, and I dont mean that its HESI or nothing I just dont add anything else to the solution. The tubes fill 4 times a day every 6 hours. I have 2 400W HPS about 15 inches above the canopy. I use a oscillating heater to supply heat, obviously, and to keep the air moving. The temp holds well at 73 degrees. I think one of my biggest errors with this grow was the temp early in the veg stage, it was cold in there for about a week while I was out of town, left it unplugged. So, and please correct me if Im wrong, I think the reason the plants look nutrient deficient is because it was too cold for the plants to feed correctly. They have since corrected themselves after the heat was plugged back in but I still think I have a lot of room for improvement so any help would be greatly appreciated. I have pics! The plant is a Grapefruit - Blueberry cross and when you rub off a little resin it smells like grapefruit syrup. The pictures were taken on my cell phone and really dont do the plants justice. I know the fan leaves look rough but, trust me when I say this, the buds glisten with ice clear resin glands. I think, the leaves are a direct result of my temp problem early in the grow. The first two pics you see were taken at just over 3 weeks and then 5 weeks for the other 2 the 5 picture was last summer in my moms neighborhood. Although it was careless my mother is the only person that isnt over the age of 70 in the entire hood and her next-door neighbor actually commented on how pretty it was. Basically, I just like the picture....now I just have to figure out how to post a pic.
