Actually I just want the buds to be "compressed" into nuggets not actual bricks. nah mean?

First time grower. After cutting down my plant I used the brown bag method to dry the buds in a dark area for about 2 weeks while turning the buds every so often. However, the buds themselves have not compressed into that ideal compressed state. Any ideas on how to make the buds compress...
