You want to try and get the purest butane you can. just go to the store and get lighter butane... If you can you can get up to 5 times distilled. (more pure the butane the more pure the oil) but I don't know what propane converts to with oxidation and you wouldn't want to smoke oil with propane.

im pretty sure a way you can do it is peel off the thin bark like substance on the outside, leaving you with the starchy root then you mash it up and brew it. (thats how daun juan did it in a Yaqai way of knowledge.)
