It does look a bit underdone in the photo I agree (bad lighting), but 80% of the hairs were red and the trichs looked ready, and its was in flowering for 12 weeks. And it smokes wonderfully :) That photo was 5 mins after I harvested.

Not sure about hum, his buds are bigger than mine :) But the secret for me was a 600w HPS light. I mucked around for a while with LEDs and CFLs, but never got good results. Since moving to HPS, the bud really fattens up.

HPS for the win If heat is a problem, get a cool tube. I grow in 30c ambient temperatures, inside my wardrobe with a 600w HPS cool tube, and I don't have heat problems. Temp is normally same in my wardrobe as ambient temp. Altough I've got some other exhaust happening as well as the cool tube.

Of all the complex methods I've tried, this simple method has been the best producer for me time and time again. Those are some NICE sized buds in your avatar pic.

With a 400w in a small cupboard, you are going to need some serious exhaust power. Get a big inline exhaust fan, but be warned, its going to be VERY noisy. If it isn't noisy, its not powerful enough. I would also consider a cool tube for your light. I've had the same heat problems as you and...

Im about 30 days into flowering, so about 30 days to go. Here are some updated pics, the buds are starting to get some nice size to them. Check out all the white chrystals around the bud sites on the Snow White.

One of the bagseeds turned into a hermie (balls developing underneath some bud sites). It was the big tall one, at the back left. I've removed it and killed it. I took some photos but I couldn't zoom in far enough without it going out of focus. So 6 plants remaining. All looking good, no signs...

No my cupboard is not air tight. My intake system is passive. There are gaps underneath the doors, and also where the doors close together. Thats where my fresh air gets sucked in, and then up through the plants to the roof of the cupboard where it gets sucked out through my carbon filter...

Not big enough :) Its about 2 foot deep and 8 foot wide, with about 6 feet of vertical grow space. But im limited in vertical space by the fact that they get too bushy to grow any higher than that.
