I think you would have to hang first for a few days at least to get rid of the initial moisture. If you put them in sealed containers right away they would probably grow mold; too much moisture.

You really should run to Radioshack and grab a 60x-100x hand held scope - they are like $12. Then start keeping track of how the trichomes progress.
