The only natural way for the flowers to turn purple is if the plant is subject to cold weather, but unless it is close to harvest time then the cold weather could really restrict the developement of the flowers. This would also mean a much smaller yield

I have started as late as June 21st and have still yielded up to 2ounces of dried buds, but it all depends on where you live and how long warm weather stays around.
