I run the 60 site aeroflo, and I normally keep the water level a little below the baskets, then after a couple weeks i put the drain tubes pretty much all the way down. Oh and also after a about a month you might find yourself filling the 40 gallon res everyother day. The plants will suck down...

I would run it 24/7 and introduce seedlings after they have rooted. You could also do a week of veg before you turn back the light. I run the aeroflo 60 and i love the results. Hope this helps.
