It isn't pulling any altitude and yes I'm making sure the tube that is connected to one valve is open and I close the other one. That's why I'm confused too because the meter isn't moving at all

I just received my 3 cfm vac Purge and the 2 gal chamber today, put them all together carefully and it seems the murcary meter isn't work when the pump is on and the oil doesn't seem to of change what so ever! So I'm wondering if I put the chamber together wrong or if one of the items I received...
