No, soil pH is higher, it acts as a buffer. Soil is 6.4-6.6. I think 6.5-7 is too high, roots prefer a slightly acidic enviorment some more than others but Everybody has slightly different numbers, see the chart for which nutrients are available at which pH levels... Anybody else?
