After taking in what everyones said and from my own opinion (for what its worth lol) i think im going with an hlg 320 1400 and running 11 strips . Either at 1050ma and around 220watts or at 1400ma and around 300watts. Cost will be £320

Im definitely going to make my own. Partly because i like building things .but also i think theres a good saving to be made . Does anyone know what current the quantum board is ran at to get 260watt from 576 x LM301b . My calculations are assuming i'd get about 20watts per strip at 1050ma...

The best light for comparison is probably the xl quantum board from diy led uk.its running 288 x 3 lm301b = 864 at £380 Around one of the pair of lights i quoted for . So £240. It really depends on the quality of the lm301b on each of the boards. But how much difference can there be between...

The lrs 150 is about £22 but im clueless at the moment about how many id need . The hlg 240 is around £70

Thanks for all the info .id like to understand more about how the drivers work . Is that hlg 240h the thing to use and why ? . Is parallel wiring the way to go to . I had been thinking wiring in series would be easier and simpler . But i couldnt work out what driver to get and how many id need.
