    Need help sizing carbon filter

Honestly, I'm working with a very small grow. 2 moms and 2 clones in veg room at any one time, and 6 in flower (3 sets of 2, 20 days apart). You can't smell a thing upstairs it's just when you walk into the room. Also, I increased the size of the filter and it is working well now for my flower...

    Need help sizing carbon filter

If I wanted to spend the $ I would have already. Not trying to be rude but no one has answered my question. What size would the filter need to be in order to accommodate my 6" in-line duct booster (250cfm)? I saw a formula somewhere for this specific application but for some reason I can't...

    Need help sizing carbon filter

I'm at 4wks flowering and it seems that my current filter isn't getting the job done. It's a diy project that I found on the web. I made it with a $10 carbon air filter from wally world and some hardware cloth. It's hooked up with a 6" in-line duct booster fan rated at 250cfm. I'm thinking that...

Help with 400w HPS, 4' x 2' x 5' grow tent. Please and thank you!

quick update: the filter - light - 6" fan combo didn't suffieciently cool the room. Two 4" work well, though. Followed by a separate 6"/scrubber combo. So if any of you are considering doing something like this you need to have 3 fans if you use in-line duct boosters. Two 4" (one for intake, one...

They are very helpful... it's always easier to see what you're thinking rather than trying to explain it literally. Every grow guide should have them, imo.

No explanation necessary :-) air in < air out = stink in, air in > air out = stink out. Correct?

So, you suggest the latter? I'm going to try both ways I'll post my findings afterwards. Thanks again to all of you! I'm glad I joined this site I've learned 90% of what I know here. My suggestion to all the newbies out there like me is to READ as much as you can before you purchase ANYTHING!!

I'm gonna try a few different things and see what works for me. This is my 1st grow so I've been doing trial and error the whole way. I spent probably close to double what I should have trying to diy at the beginning and nothing was working out. However, everything is coming together nicely now...

Yeah I originally had the 4" for intake only. I ordered the other after my cooltube so that I would have intake and exaust for it. The 6" in powerful enough to create enough negative pressure to keep the stink in and clean it at the same time, don't you think? 250cfm for my 40 cubic feet of tent...

If I use the 6' on the tube should I use passive intake on the opposite side, but still duct the open end out of the tent so that the unscrubbed air doesnt escape thru it? And would a 4" 80cfm be enough to effectively use with the scrubber?

Ok that's what I thought originally. Thanks again for the help! +rep for everyone with helpful suggestions.

Reason for my asking is because I plan on using 2 4" in-line fans to intake/exaust the cooltube (and using my 6" in-line to attach to my carbon scrubber) and the cooltube itself is 6". Thanks for all the help everyone. Hopefully, this is the last piece of the puzzle. Problem is going to be...

I was thinking I should just attach it to a vent leading upstairs. It should cool enough on the way up to not make any difference by the time it actually exits the vent. The humidity from the dryer isn't really a problem because it wouldn't cause it go above 50% in my tent. Is it possible to...
