That seems like good irrigation practice, although I've never had a plant go a week without needing water. I would attribute watering needs to heat, light and good mix with a high drainage. Perhaps the drainage of your soil isn't optimal.

I'd say the drooping is from frequent watering; complied with the transplant. You may not be overwatering per say, but watering too often. Let your soil surface do a little drying before you irrigate again. This will allow your roots to have an alternative measure to obtain needed oxygen...

A photograph would help people diagnose your situation more accurately. I believe you should wait; let your soil dry half an inch before irrigating again. (If possible, heavy rains can be a big issue with outdoor growing).
