Tips for Dyna Grow Foliage Pro in soil

It's been awhile, so I thought I'd post an update. My plants are a few weeks into 12/12 and they are looking great. When I started this grow, my plan was to just use FP and ProTekt all the way through. The one issue I had was Mag def. It wasn't as bad as my last grow with Jack's Classic, but it...

Tips for Dyna Grow Foliage Pro in soil

I used a lot of ph down in my first grow. My tap is around 8 to 8.5 (70ppm) and after adding my Jack's, I was usually still around 7.5. For this grow, using foliage pro, I haven't been using any ph down. As long as I keep the silica to a very small amount(or leave it out), after adding the FP...

Tips for Dyna Grow Foliage Pro in soil

I've got a bottle of CalMag Plus and a bottle of MagPro. Both will handle any Mag def. The difference is the CalMag has Cal and Iron, while the MagPro has P, K, and S. I'm not sure which would be better. Maybe I will alternate them. :)

Tips for Dyna Grow Foliage Pro in soil

With this new batch, I had been doing just Protekt and Foliage Pro since they were babies (from clones). I'm 99% sure the yellowing between the veins was Mag def because the symptoms matched everything I've read online about it. I just wasn't sure if there was a Calcium problem as well. But I...

Tips for Dyna Grow Foliage Pro in soil

So that first grow ended up ok. I ended up sticking with the 20-20-20 pretty much throughout flower, doing a good flush each week, and adding CalMag every time. The plants looked a little rough, but I got about 2 oz of good bud from each of the 8 plants. I've got 6 plants in veg on my second...

Taco leaf causes - not humidity or temp or ph

No change since the plain watering on Tuesday.

Taco leaf causes - not humidity or temp or ph

Here are a few pics. Note that the brown patches on leaves are all from about 6 weeks ago. That affected the Pineapple Haze the worst with less severe spotting on the Blueberry and Strawberry Kush. All of it mainly affected upper leaves exposed to light. But it wasn't a heat issue and that issue...

Taco leaf causes - not humidity or temp or ph

Like I said, my tap water has very little Cal or Mag and my nutes have none and I didn't add lime to my soil. I'll put up some pics shortly.

Taco leaf causes - not humidity or temp or ph

The taco'ed leaves are still green and look healthy otherwise, so I think they can recover. I had a mild case of brown spots during veg and a more severe one early in flower and the general consensus was a Cal def, so I've been trying to avoid that. It's true that I'm in dirt, but it doesn't...

Taco leaf causes - not humidity or temp or ph

This is what I'm leaning towards, just because nothing in the environment has changed. Or maybe they are getting rootbound. I gradually switched from Jack's All Purpose(20-20-20) to Jack's Blossom Booster(10-30-20 in the past couple weeks. I've been using CalMag and feeding with every watering...

Taco leaf causes - not humidity or temp or ph

I've got a couple of plants where the leaves on top are suddenly tacoing. Everything I can find by searching talks about heat stress, low humidity, or ph. My temps have been consistent, always in the 60s at night and 70s during the day and humidity is always between 40 and 60. ph is always 6.4...

Also, with the higher doses of nutes, ph has been at 6.7 without adding any acid, so ive been skipping the ph down.

Tips for Dyna Grow Foliage Pro in soil

Its not a ph problem. Ph is consistent. I was doing the all purpose plus bloom because I was going to gradually transition them. But it turns out they were starving. Im not using FFOF. Im using cheap organic potting mix with perlite, but no lime. I bought an EC/PPP meter. My tap water is 80...

Tips for Dyna Grow Foliage Pro in soil

Could definitely be a Ca def, but I doubt it's from low ph. I'm always 6.5 going in and when I've checked runoff, it's usually 6.3 to 6.5. Most plants look really good. Only the pineapple haze has the issue, so I'm thinking it's more sensitive to P and/or a Ca hog. Temps upper 60's at night...
