Hi The Yellowing is down to N deficency as some 1 has said most plants will loose lower leaves as the nutes go to the top of plant And the leaves die of due to no nutes at the bottom people have different opinions on ph but between 6.4 and 7.0 i would say that would be fine. Look at this table...
