Well first of all start more then 1 plant. Put the light as close as ya can get it with out burning the plant.

I put the screen on at about 30 days from seed after lst training. Screen sits about 18 to 20 inches from the top of pot. Once the screen is full go 12x12 and just let them tops grow. The whole idea is to get an even canopy.
