The plant is on a 12/12 cycle, and it has been a little more then a week since moving to the flowering stage. Does it take a while for budding to start?

My plant is about foot tall, bushing out, and has limited space. It Smells like weed, but there is no budding that i can see. Is this normal? Please leave some comments.Thanks.

To all, I am also trying to figure out how long I should keep it in its veg cycle to reach a high of 2 feet or if i should wait till it gets 1 foot then change it to its flowering stage. -Kris

Just looking for any feedback. This is my practice grow next time im planning to get some good seeds after working through all the problems of a new grower. Is my plant stretching to much? I just now topped it should i have started topping at an earlier stage? Any concerns or ideas please...
