Tested PH which was sitting at about 6.8. Got the PH down to about 5.6, and put an aquarium heater in my res. Hoping see some sign of improvement, I really want to turn things around.

Yeah I think the PH is off. I use the little tester, and can only test PH before putting in nutrients. I need to get a meter. I was trying to make a dollar out of a dime this run.
