My pH was around 8.5 (I know, but I wasn't testing it) I switched to RO a few days back with 1/2 nutes and 1/2 superthrive. They seem to be recovering, but I don't know. I was giving them 1/4 nutes in the beginning, but the water is so hard here, I though maybe I was getting some bad juju...

My plants are turning bright yellow. I thought maybe it was a nute problem, but I don't know. The plants do this whenever they go frol the cfl's for seeding to HPS for veg. Is this a heat problem, nutes or water?

Try to germinate them all. If I get a sprout, I pop them in grodan mini blocks and then put them under a small fluorescent on 24/0 for as long as I want. Keep the strong, waste the weak. Or, just pop them around town in ditches and whatnot. Spread the seed. Tis the season.

Oh, and correct me here if I'm wrong.... this HPS bulb is rated at ~95,000 initial lumens. I understand the inverse square principle for light, but also the interior of the grow room is 90% reflective. The hut is 3.3'x3.3' which is about 11 square feet. That equals over 8,500 lumens...

I'm dropping the light to 4' from the canopy. Temperature is a steady 75F right now, so I could probably go closer, but I'm going to wait until I get C02 running. I slammed them with nutes yesterday (1/2 strength + superthrive) and today I decided I'm only going to use RO or distilled water...

Hair dryers are frequently 1800 watts. Course, they don't run for 18 hours. ;)

A couple good points, so I'll respond. The bulb I'm using is a Gavita which is supposed to have enhanced blue spectrum. Probably not as good as MH for veg, but it's all I have. When you said that you had a plant that was almost entirely yellow.... was it otherwise healthy? I tried a couple...
