I also am a first time cfl grower i know this is an old thread but even the people who just search can use some tips.. When growing cfl the rule of is keeping the bulbs close to the plant seeing how cfls disperse the light in all directions you want it above or around the plant about 4 inches...

Easy man just take some tape or some string and wrap it around the split area for a week or two the plant is far from fragile and in nature much worse has happened but they keep on growing!!

Wouldn't there be more signs of stress than just the red hairs though? i mean yeah it probably is stressed but i can't quite put it outside yet even the baby nugs are gaining red hairs i read on here that it could also mean they are maturing i might be a week off flowering.

It's far from a hermie i check every day just in case, I keep the soil moist and well as it is my first grow i like to check up on it like every hour haha i don't overwater but i make sure the top soil isn't soaked and isn't dry i water it every other day.

Well man if you think about it THC isn't water soluble, now if you can get some kind of watery oil, like that could happen :P but if you could do that warm up the stems and clippings and in oil water mix and hope the Oil/water mix gets absorbed.
