Safety is not really an issue. Your house plugs are rated to accept 15amps of load. If you plug more than that into your outlets it will trip the breaker. Usually 12 outlets max on a circuit. My 260 qb covers 2x4 extremely well. It' 2 qb 's on 1 heatsink. 1 board should cover 2x2 more than adequately.

No difference in yield? Then that should be the standard. Finishes faster all good reasons. If you save and get the same yield do that. I think experience will get the best results. People have to experiment for themselves and find what works for their plants.
