I'm not sure that my companion plantings are beneficial. There are probably better choices. I would suspect that the corn isn't a beneficial companion since it is a heavy feeder. I planted the giant sunflowers and corn more as a visual distraction. Something else for the eye to focus on.

I wouldn't say quick. I typically see roots within 2 weeks but that may be due to my environment and quality of the cuttings (older cuttings take longer to root). I do like that it is set it and forget it.
Weird storms seem to be normal here. The good thing about December snow is that it usually melts quickly. Now, February snow might hang around until April.
