Normally the rule of thumb is harvest before or close to the first frost, when you start to see frost in the morning then you should be worried about your babies, but as long as it heats up in the day to a good temp you should be ok.

well, im by no means an expert grower, but it sounds like you should top them if in a closet, unless the 6ft one was ez to handle and hide and gave good yeild, from what i understand you get more quality bud from topped plants b/c of increased light. but hey, just my opinion. happy growing ^_^
