people have used "bottles" for years, since the 60s atleast. the open/exposed substrate on the top allows for the air exchange, and the mushrooms grow towards it. You will get less crops than a casing method however. Even still, you WILL get mushrooms, probably a 1/8th oz every flush, dried.

goodluck. make sure you pick the entire mushroom, including whats underneath the ground. don't just snap it off at the base. you need entire mushrooms for identification. also dont use plastic bags, get wax paper or else they will turn to shit in a few hrs and get very 'mushy' ;)

these cups are perfectly fine. you want something that allows you to "hit" the cake out of afterwards. Some jars cave inwards, others have a lip outwards (like the picture). make sure you add the top layer of DRIED verm in your mix, and put on a proper lid with some microporous materials.
