I've had great luck in basements. In norhteast they don't get too hot, or cold.

It will cost you some time, I suggest you find the females, let grab some branches for clones, and let the mothers continue to flower to maturity. When you go to 12/12, you'll get a nice growth spurt ( about 2X ), so those small branches you see in veg will get big enough to clone.

I mist the lasses at least once a day. Never had a problem. You want good ventilation, air movement. Also they like pictures of mountains. Blue ones.

It grew roots out of the stem for me.

Best things I ever did for my clones, have patience. The worst things, putting in ferts too early, and getting one cooked by the cfl being too close. On the other hand I had take real nice, which then gave me two, and so on.

Go cfls. Lights were my biggest cost.

I just picked up a couple of "100" watt cfls from 1000bulbs.com. US$ 5.60 each. These have a special coating which is supposed to help control odors and in my two days of testing I have to say it works. I use the cfls for veg in a small cabinet, with a fan. I've always had a slight weedy smell...

some heavy gauge copper wire is ok, too. AWG 10 or 12 is plently stiff. Mogie rocks. I'm into week 5 of 12/12 with a tied over sativa, and the nugs are small, but there are a lot!

You can also use the CFLs, compact flourescents, which are nice and small, and they fit in any type of standard light socket.

That's tight, dude. SCROG may be your best bet. I have a 250 hps, and I can get within 2" of the tops safely, but I think the 400 needs 6" or more. What do you mean by 35"? Bulb to bottom? Or usable space. :joint:

Get a couple of daylight cfls. They can almost touch. IMHO incandescent is useless.

Cool idea. I just switched clone closet over to 18/6. It just seems right.
