Can we have a discussion in 2019 about how home growers should be processing?

So it's been just about three months since I last posted here. Finally finished the bubble hash, had been vaping that almost exclusively for twelve weeks. RIP my tolerance. Finally finished my rosin press and did a flower squish tonight. Press: Homemade 8 ton w/ 3x5 plates. 4-100W heaters...

Well, crap. I'm going to have to pull the plug on this. Wife wants to visit her folks for a couple of weeks this summer. Since the plants won't survive that, might as well cut them down before I invest any more time in these. Will pick this up again in about mid-August. Will go from seed on the...

So it has been just over a week since the last update. I have some pictures of the reveg progress from last night - day 29 of reveg. Now that new growth is taking off, I'm guessing that the remnants of the buds should be removed. The plants are getting bushy! I figure that I'll take some...

I think this thread will probably start off fairly slowly - based on the timelines I've read about for plants to reveg. Here's some pics of the plants immediately after harvest, and again today, three weeks later. I'm actually surprised at how much leaf matter has been added, and how much the...

So this is "Part B" of my first grow. Original thread here: https://www.rollitup.org/t/long-veg-time-maybe-bad-genetics-or-not-autos-should-i-flip-to-12-12.981109/ Just a recap: I planted four seeds of a strain known as Candy Cane Auto from Crop King seeds that I had bought 2 years ago, before...

Long veg time. Maybe bad genetics or not autos. Should I flip to 12/12?

Since the two plants seem to be revegging, I'm going to wrap this thread up and carry on over in the grow diary sub. Thanks everyone for your contributions!

I don't know if there is any "should" involved here. There's just so much variety and so many personal preferences when it comes to extracts. My preference is for the final product to have no toxic solvents, so that leaves few options for me without spending a ton of cash: QWET, dry ice kief...

Long veg time. Maybe bad genetics or not autos. Should I flip to 12/12?

So here's an update on my attempt at revegging some plants. Killed plant 3 with excess nitrogen. Plants 1 and 4 appear to be revegging. New shiny leaves, oval shaped, not serrated along the sides. Leaves grow curled/twisted, and at odd orientations. Several sites on both plants exhibit this...

Looking good. What strain is this again?

    Let’s have a pissing contest!

I've found that selective use of the ignore function has improved my enjoyment of this sub. (I only have one person on ignore.)

    Canada proud!

So a couple of posts above I was talking about my first attempt at making bubble hash. Obtained an unbelievable 14.5 grams from my source material - roughly 4 oz of sugar leaf, 1 oz of lower popcorn/larf, and a few (<3) grams of really frosty, but old God bud. It may lose a bit more water...

    Canada proud!

Tried making bubble hash for the first time today with the 5 oz. trim from my recent harvest and a few grams of older God Bud I had lying around. I had dried the trim thoroughly, and half was from a dry trim anyway. Got quite a bit of plant material in the finished product at 160 microns, 73...

Long veg time. Maybe bad genetics or not autos. Should I flip to 12/12?

Well fuck me, it seems that I can't do math when stoned. total of 9.4 oz, not 10.5. In grams: 265.8g total for the four plants. Still better than I was expecting going in.

Long veg time. Maybe bad genetics or not autos. Should I flip to 12/12?

Just finished dry trimming. It's all in jars now. I may have overdried, damnit. Hopefully some moisture sweats out. Final weight for the four plants is 10.5 oz. Also 5 oz. of reasonable trim. So that's better than I was hoping for. I'm happy! The three plants are still living under 24hrs...

Long veg time. Maybe bad genetics or not autos. Should I flip to 12/12?

Time to start the "Things I learned" list! Things I learned from this grow: 1. Have patience. I believe this will be easier on subsequent grows as much of my impatience was driven by a desire to get on to the next step/phase. Have now been there, done that. 2. Buy good genetics. Still going to...
