Just change your bulbs and switch over. I give them 24 hours of total darkness before I go 12/12, but it's really not necessary, just preference. Let them do there thing, once they have 12 hour days nature will take it's course. As far as your chem goes... I'm not familiar with what your using...

I am doing the same thing, very good idea, just use flez ducting and put atleast 180 degree turn total before it gets to your flowering room and you will have no light coming through at all.
