    DiY LED - Cree CXA3070

Thank you alesh. Would 5000K for vegging and 3000K for flowering give good results without messing with red/blue LEDs?

What is the difference between Vero 10 BXRC-50C1000-B-04 and BXRC-50C1000-B-24? Cannot find specs for the -04 I am going to use Vero 10 for vegging.

What about this option: Heatsink from HeastsinkUSA 4.6" wide (serrated fin) let say 4" long with a 92mm 40CFM fan? Would it be better than Arctic 64 Plus?

    DiY LED - Cree CXA3070

Thanks for the info. I have bought only one Alpine 11 to test it out, but I think I will switch to 64 plus. They have the 64 Plus on sale here for $14.99 Canadian (approx. $12 USD). I am going to check it out before I buy qty.

    DiY LED - Cree CXA3070

Hey Supra, would kapton tape work on Arctic Alpine 11 taping down CXB3590? The flat surface on the heatsink is only 43 x 52mm while the COB size is 35 x 35mm. Not much room there left for the tape.

What about using a thermal switch mounted on the heatsink and wired in series with a COB. They are normally closed and available in temperature range from 50C to 205C.

Hey Supra, could you please do the same calculations for CXB3590, 36V, bin CB, Model:CXB3590-0000-000N0HCB30G I can get these from Jerry ([email protected]) for $48.50 I would like to compare them to CXA3070 if it makes sense going with 3590. Thanks

Hey guys, I would like your opinion. I am thinking about this: My grow room is 8' x 9'. The numbers are based on Supra's spreadsheet. I would like to using dimable drivers and normally run 700mA (and crank up higher if needed). Here are the 700mA numbers: So is 2,182 lm/sq ft about the right...

Spectrum King makes 400W LED lights and claims 125,000 lux (??). How this compare to our CXA3070 project? They also say that COBs have low efficiency (scroll down) compared to discrete LED diodes. Could you please comment on this.

Hey Supra, how do you calculate the efficiency numbers? I cannot figure that out. Thanks.

Your CXA3590 Mission Should you Choose to Accept It !

Great project. Why did you switch to Vero 18? What power supply and heatsink you use?

    Spectrum King 400w LED Grow

Hey Mrpurps, keep posting, I am very interested on the results. I seen this LED light today in the local hydro store. It was on and was very impressing. They also had a 400W MH on and I measured the intensity with my lux meter (I know, it is not a PAR meter, but just to compare). At 12" the 400W...

Harvest a Pound Every Three Weeks!

As promised, here are a couple of photos of my set-up built by using Stink's plans. So far I have only 3 plants started from seeds so the cloner is sitting empty waiting for cuttings. I painted the yellow top with black spray and then with white over the black. The veg unit was originally a...
