My note- funny how the lawmakers actually DO something when THEY need to advance THEIR agenda... :finger:

Colorado Lawmakers Ask US Attorney General To Stop Pot Raids

Colorado's legislators, currently in the midst of trying to regulate medical marijuana dispensaries, are asking U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder to stop raids of medicinal cannabis operations.

A group emailed the request to Holder on Monday, following up on a letter sent last week, according to the Associated Press.

According to the lawmakers, the raids are discouraging dispensary operators and medical marijuana patients and growers from working with the Colorado Legislature on proposed regulations.

The letter was sent by Sens. Chris Romer and Nancy Spence, and Reps. Tom Massey and Beth McCann.

A suburban Denver man has been charged with marijuana possession in federal court after DEA agents raided his home and found 224 pot plants.

The raid took place only hours after segments aired of a television interview with Chris Bartkowicz, in which he boasts of his $500,000 basement grow operation, his $637,000 home and his expected $400,000 profits this year.

Federal agents have also raided two local laboratories that test medical marijuana for potency after their owners applied for federal drug licenses.

I guess the DEA didn't get Obama's memo about haulting the raids on state approved dispensaries .

There is a way to stop the DEA , and you don't even need help from state legislators. A county Sheriff can order the DEA and even the FBI out of his county, and if they refuse...he does have the authority and right to put them in his county jail.

Anyone can run for Sheriff too, I would doubt that anyone would get voted in as Sheriff if it were known the only reason they were running was to protect MMJ growers.

But still, a person who has the funds for the campaign, just say a dispensary owner for example :-P , decides to run for Sheriff... hahaha

It would work, not only that, but a newly elected Sheriff could contact the DEA and tell them "YOU WILL NOT OPERATE IN MY COUNTY...PERIOD, theres not shit they could do either.

I think this would be a good plan to push. Start running pro-MMJ people for Sheriff. It would be best to get someone who has proven themself as supporters of MMJ.

Oh man im loving this idea. In fact - there needs to be some kind of dispensary association so that they may act in unison on things like this. I think its important to be playing the same political games at this point and funding some campaigns lol.
