Dead And Dying, I Fucked Up

In my efforts to resolve a problem with chlorosis, I tried to use ever-increasing doses of fish emulsion to fertilize without overwatering. Well, I over-watered, and I burned with the fert that says it doesn't burn plants. Some (BarkingMad and DRtothE) have suggested I might be able to save some of these plants by replanting them in new soil.

I am limited, physically. As you can see by the attachments, I have a LOT of plants (at least, a lot for one MAWW with a bad back to handle on her back deck), and they've been undergoing LST, which adds to the problems with replanting. I don't want to go to the effort and expense if they're goners, but if there's a chance, I will do what I can. Especially with those I'm fairly certain are females. God, this is making me so fucking depressed, I cannot fucking believe I did this. Ok. take a look and cry with me... :cry:

afew of them look like they could make it. Maybe just try flushing the best few and let the worst ones die. Bummer.

ok i just found the thread that lead to this one, sounds like you have already attempted a flush and there drowning as well as burning, (ever heard carlos mencia talk about fire on top of water?) I think the real issue here is "can" you repot them? it couldnt hurt to try it if you can do it with your back.

THEY AREN'T THAT BAD!

These are weeds, the have a strong urgency to live.

Cut off all the leaves that are completely yellow or wilted.
Flush with distilled water or change the soil, make sure you leave the clump of roots intact.
A few might be goners, sadly, but if you act quickly you should be able to salvage some clones from the remaining good leaves.

I would suggest a period of darkness on some plants after you trim them, this will initialize a new need in the plants for life and they will grow to find light.

oh oh, add some supports to the branches that are leaning over, but you'll have to trim alot of dead leaves.
Plants with yellow stems are goners, but if they are nodes you can remove the nodes and the plant will still grow from the top and new leaves will grow from the node spots.

Ok, I've mixed up some fresh soil, this batch is a little heavier on our local "soil", no nuts added at all. I can't do distilled, but I can pH the water. Which I did, with just a wee bit of Superthrive. I've repotted two plants so far, and whoever said there will be leaves trying to grow under all that shit was right. :o

Do you mean complete darkness? I'm not sure I can do total and complete darkness, but I might be able to get pretty close. Or... I could try to build a small tent with black contractor's sheeting (got some leftover from when we painted inside).

They're all being LSTd as it is. As I trim off the dead and dying stuff, some of the branches are being held in a way I'm not thinking is so good just now, so I've actually removed the wire or jute (I'm using both). Thanks for the advice! :)
 
Your way ahead of yourself, take a step back, stop lst, stop nuting and go back to basics.

You need to evaluate your soil. For container growing I cant stress enough that finding a local premium organic soil will provide your plants with all the nutes they need well into flowering. The soil is 90% of your concern at the veg stage. Good soil will, with regular watering, grow kickass plants with no flushing needed. You look like you can grow outside, you should grow nice big hands off plants in 5-7 gal containers and they will produce buds the size of your leg.

Growing simply will form a foundation for your future grows. Youll be able to have a good control group for comparing new techniques and nutrients as well as saving on your initial investment by not requiring extra chemicals or equipment.

Everyone tries to do to much to their plants. You dont need LST for big buds or nutes, they grow nuggets on their own. Just sit, watch, smoke, and kill the boys.

Good post. Kiss Keep It Simple Stupid. It works for growing. Keep it simple till you know the signs of nute deficencies and watering levels. Use the best potting soil you can get and minimize nutes and work up slowly.
 
I thought I was the only one having problems with the fish emulsion. I told people it burned my plants but no one believed me, my largest dose was 10 ml per gallon every other watering. I am using bone meal along with molasses to supplement potassium and it works a lot better although I think I'm missing some trace nutrients, overall the plants are healthy.
 
Overall my plants were doing fairly well, considering some of the pest issues I've had.

At this point I've repotted all but one that were in need, with a SEVERE trimming. All LST was removed, except that which I felt might stress the plant to have removed at this point. All have had a small drink of pH'd water with a small bit of Superthrive, that's it. The soil, as I said, is our local soil. In other words, the really rich stuff from under the manzanita, with the addition of perlite, compost, more perlite, and a bit of Sta-Green organic.

I am limited, both by location and funds.

This time I did not add anything else to the soil, I focused on drainage and making sure it smelled good, mostly because that's the best I have to go on at this point. I have photos, will post later.

A friend confirmed for me this morning that fish emulsion can and does burn. Now I know for a fact that it can, and I've learned my lesson, which I won't relearn with my good seedlings (known strains).

K, the pix, aftermath. I'm thinking these maybe I should put in the dark, or at least lower light situation, don't know which might be preferable (but total darkness is nigh impossible). I didn't get photos of all the plants that I trimmed and repotted, but I did get some of the worst. I went with the green stem to indicate what I should cut away and what I should leave. Let's keep our fingers crossed!

Holy shit Seamaiden...i just shed a tear. I didnt think they were that bad in the original pics...but the good news is...they will still make you some buds:joint:
everything that is green looks much healthier now.

Best of luck Seamaiden. Are you judt using natural sunlight? If you are could you possibly supplement some light with CFL's so as to keep it on 24hrs and pray???????????? Just spit ballin here....

Can't supplement the light at this time, though it's an idea. I'm thinking that getting the plant to build up some root structure would then help it rebuild all that vegetative growth.

Let this be a lesson to all, don't do that extra little bit when the voice in the back of your head is saying you might regret it.
 
had a similar situation with much younger plants, cept it was those waskaly wabbits that ate my leaves off. Your plant absorbes A LOT of energy through the leaves, maybe give your roots alot of oxygen, and spray whatever leaves you have left/stalks with carbonated water.

I don't know how you messed your plants up this bad and have the nerve to show up on the forum. way to go douche :blsmoke:

It's not the worst thing in the world (and honestly, I'd rather have just been called a douche and have all my plants looking healthy again).

Yeah, I fucked up, and I did it ALL BY MYSELF. I had no one to help me. But see, I'll admit it, and yeah, I'll show my 'face', because I'm human and I'm fallible. I'll tell ya one thing, it was the people here, the people who posted on this thread and others, that got me to stop feeling so down that I didn't want to even try to fix what I did wrong. Now, what I did may not work, but at least I've tried. And whoever mentioned the green stems thing gave me an invaluable tip. I just wish Radiokills (or whoever it was that mentioned it) would come back and tell me if I need to go for total darkness, or what. They're sittin' in my tub right now, except for the last couple that I just trimmed and didn't repot.

And thank GOD for hydrotech364 and littlebat. :D Oh yeah, honkeytown, I should let you know that not a single Conquistador was harmed during the making of this thread. Nor the Lone Papaya, nor any Cali. Indica x Big Bud plants. Just the bagseed plants (and I have hundreds of those seeds). At least I made my mistake with plants I didn't have to pay to plant, eh?
