Panic! Almost all the fan leaves on one of my plants have died and fallen off!

More help please! See post #32... Thank you!

Very first grow. This is bagseed and I was lucky enough to get two females on the first try. Yay! Or so I thought... 44days of 12/12 later (vegged for 3 weeks) and one of my plants is pretty pissed at me. I changed over to flowering nutes with a molasses about 3 weeks I to 12/12. Half strength along with 1tbs of molassas per gallon. fed every other watering. At first I had some yellowing but it wasn't too bad. Went out of town for a few days and had some turmoil. Roommate was in charge of watering. He would let me know how they were doing but by the time I got back the leaves did not look good. Some research told me it what I think is N deficiency. Tried to switch back to veg nutes to save the leaves but to no avail.

They are almost all gone now. The buds are starting to look really good and fat and some of the pistils are turning amber.... but there are no leaves. I don't know what to do or if it is salvageable. The other plant which is on the same exact regimen, same bagseed, seems to be doing much better. While the leaves are a bit purple and yellow they are still alive and not shriveled. The only difference is it is in a smaller pot.

I don't want to lose this plant. It is much larger than the other and will be the bigger yeild, but I don't think I can risk pulling it yet.

I can't post photos at the moment (on my phone) but I will as soon as I get back.

the plant will naturally drop fan leaves as it matures, although this should happen gradually and not just over a few days so id guess you are dealing with deficiencies. do you or did you're friend ph the water? are the leaves a real pale yellow almost turning white ? or more of a golden colour and crunchy? also are the smaller leaves around the buds a healthy green still? it should still finish if you wish it to, just not as well as it could at full health

It started out with the leaves turning a golden yellow and then falling off. It has just been in the last week that the browning and spots have formed. Looking at another chart suggests Potassium deficiency, but the nutes I am giving them (Dyna-Gro Bloom) should give them what they need in flowering. Water PH is in the 6.5 range. I just don't know what is wrong.

This is the sad plant...

This is the less-sad plant...

Like I said, all the same conditions other than they were started a week apart and the smaller one is in a smaller pot.

I am considering pulling one of the tiny bottom buds to test the potency just in case I need to pull her early.... would this be advisable or should I just leave her alone until I am ready to chop her completely?

You can cut a bud to test if you want but I can tell you that it will taste like shit and not get you high. Those buds are nowhere near getting you high yet. I would bring them up to your tub and flush them real thoroughly and ph your nutrient solution to 6.0 from now on.

Ok. Thank you. :)

1 tablespoon molasses? Honestly, I find that to be too much... You do know that molasses can really change PH quite a bit, right? I find 1 teaspoon per gallon just right for bringing tap water to proper PH.... A tablespoon would change it a lot more than a teaspoon. 3 teaspoons=1 tablespoons

ok from them pictures it looks overfed (hence the dark green clawing) and also looks like a phosphorus deficiency. I would guess that a salt build up from the nutes has lowered you're soil ph. Phosphorus will get locked out if the ph drops below 6.5. have you flushed the plants recently? I would let the medium dry out then give it a flush with plain water with a ph of 7 then feed lightly from then on out with water ph from 6.6 to 6.9. no need to pull it early its not the healthiest plant but it will still cross the finish line :)

Thank you! That must have been my problem. I think I got bad information. I will make sure not to do that again.

I put both plants in the tub, drenched them until the water reached the edge of the pot and let it drain. I did 4 rounds of that and then let them sit and further drain for a half hour before putting them back in their house. I guess just wait and see? Should I expect signs of over-watering form them being so wet? They weren't quite due to be watered yet. When Should I feed them again? When they dry out?

I am so worried that the one with no leaves is just going to wither away to nothing without food. I would be so sad.

ph to 6 and you will end up locking out just about everything. That's assuming you are using a soil medium

you drenched them 4 times? They dont need water for at least a week. Do you have a dehumidifier and /or humidity meter? You dont want to get mold. What kind of nutes are you using?

Yes, I am am in soil. I have been aiming for 6.5 but I haven't kept on top of it due to a recent round of drama.

I was so proud of myself up until this point. They had been looking so good considering it's my very first time. I have made lots of notes so I can improve upon things the next round.

Yeah. I followed some flushing instructions. I let them drain really well and the humidity is pretty low in my basement. I took the pan of water I was keeping in the cabinet out to drop it a little more. The nutes are Dyna-Gro Bloom.

Just so you know, I meant that 3 teaspoons = 1 tablespoons... I was right in what I was thinking but put it down wrong... Stay clear of molasses if ur babies turn around - good luck

looks to me like you have a couple problems at the same time the leaves are clawing witch would be over watering the rusty looking spots look like a cal-mag def and the yellowing would be lack of nitrogen both probably caused by lockout from improper ph I would suggest getting a good digital ph meter and a bag of dolomite lime and a bottle of cal-mag flush with some 6.5 ph water give them a couple days to dry out sprinkle some lime on the soil and feed your regular nutes with some cal-mag ph'd to 6.5. I found that when i first started growing that if I was seeing yellowing or spots or anything weird a good flushing and them restarting my nutes when the dried out my problems would clear up
