Seedling not opening

I got this one little seedling and the roots are out, stems out but the first baby leaves are not coming out of the shell. Its like the shell stopped opening. Should I help it in anyway?

nope, leave it alone. Even if you get the seed case off, the plant is unlikely to unfurl it's leaves until it's ready. Either it'll open or it won't. If you see the leaves trying to come out but getting stuck on a mostly open helmet, then you could help a little.

I have had the shell get stuck on a few seedlings. If it doenst come off the seedling will more than likely die. I have removed the shell without killing the seedling and have also damaged them before too. You can sit back and do nothing and hope it bucks it off, or gently try to remove it yourself. If I wre gonna attempt it I would use tweezers and gently try to pry it open wider till it splits (the shell) rather than pulling it off.

lol i had that problem...one time i was letting the seedling to open the shell by itself...till 1 week....it died....so i had several seedlings like that i just mist or drop water direct to the shell...it will soften it up and open easy....if its already open but still stick to the leave or stem....try use with wet cotton swab, gently scrap it off..dont scrap it hard...if its still stick.. thats okay, wait for next day...repeat :)

You ought to give up more info on how your doing it?
Is it in a little cup or pot covered with plastic and a rubber band?
If not do it now! You want it warn and humid till the shell falls off
keep it covered with plastic till the shells falls off! Then once it gets
good and steamed up. I would help it very carefully! Once it good
and wet don't try to help it if it's dry out~

pretty much just dont fuck with it. put seeds on a moist paper towel in a zip lock bag. keep it in complete dark in a warm area maybe about 80 degrees or so. in 2-4 days roots should come out. bury it about a 1/4 inch. i'd say 1-3 days it will come above soil. keep it moist and make sure the light isnt drying it out by being too close.

another method i found sucessful is skip the entire germination process and just straight up place a seed in a rot riot cube. then put the cube in a small cup of soil. in a few days it should sprout above soil.

also i never soak seeds. some people do and i dont think it hurts it but imo your just wasting a day.

my germination rate is damn near 100%. usually when they dont its because the seed was damaged or old

from, my understanding, it HAs gerninated and the shell is stuck on the sprout

Yes I put the seed in a jiffy pod. The pod is then put into a plastic domb with black bottom and clear top. Light bulb is ontop of the domb. Seedling already rooted and stem has started to grow. The seed just didnt open all the way. Compared to the other seedlings who already had to be removed and put into my hydro bucket. I did manage to remove the seed shell thanks to help from you guys. Plant now looks like its doing better. Thanks for the help.
