Roots

I've recently spent a small fucking fortune on root enhancement shit , I only buy AN and added voodoo juice and sensizym to my grow, the problem I'm having is after putting the sensizym to use the roots have developed a browning(see photos) , the voodoo juice seemed to work real well , roots were fluffy and white. My res and room temps are fine, I use b52 and sensi grow a/b plus a little bud candy to feed the bennies. I originally thought my browning roots were due to my kid(he's 21 and holds an mmj card) not cleaning out the hydroton good enough but now I'm not sure , so anyway heres some photos if anyone has a clue other than killing all my high priced bennies (again) with h2o2 lemme know. The three plants that I thought were dirty hydroton stuffing the up I don't really know if thats the case anymore , but as I said the voodoo juice seemed to do wonders on the roots pictured below but overnite after a res change and sensizym added also the roots have done this, damn I'm tired, saw Rush last nite at red rocks! If you have an idea lemme know, thanks.

How do the plants look.If they are looking bad are starting to die then its a problem.
The nutes you added are they dark/brown in color?that could be the problem.

hey, thanks for the reply, the plant doesn't look all that bad but neither did the roots last night. they looked very good, fluffly , white, lots of hairs. The voodoo juice was working but then I added sensizym which should do the exact opposite of turning them brown and making them stick together. the nutes per 5 gallon are 20-25 ml sensi grow a/b , 20 ml b52, 20 ml voodoo juice. 20 ml sensizym and like 5 ml bud candy just to feed the bennies. These are all below whats called for I know but hey I'm cheap and those fucking things are not so......see photos. Keep in mind thats tied down and doesn't really look that bad, its day just started too. And yes b52 is very dark along with one part of the sensi grow.

What is the rez temp?

Rez temps don't ever go over 72f or somewhere around there. My first grow saw some crazy temps and the roots looked kinda like that but the plants did great .

I actually went out of my way to change shit up this grow so my roots would do better( even though my first grow the roots did fine other than they looked nasty, see photo), bought shit for rootzone, painted res because they weren't opaque, put in ac to keep room/rez temps down, and now all my work seems senseless.

Yeah, from things I'm reading here sensizym causes roots to brown, odd, i'd think it would do the opposite. I'll leave it for now I guess since everything seems in order.I'm talking to myself in my own fucking thread :/

I knew it had to be something you were adding in the res.

I've written a flame mail to AN, maybe they'll come to defense of their product, maybe it will clear up in a couple days and my roots will be back to where I think they should be.maybe my shit will die. Its all up in the air right now, at least the two purple urkle are taking it well, the others aren't but we'll see.

DUDE ! You used b-52 that what make roots brown... it fine as long root dont smell fungus or mold ...

I've used b52 all along and the roots were white as can be with the voodoo juice. This really isn't just stain theres something there, whether its the sensizym built up and soon it will go away leaving nice white roots or what. I could understand the b52 staining the roots a touch but these were a mess. lemme go snap another one of the worst of it, I'm a shitty photographer but back in a moment......

Some of the roots are starting to look much better, wish I'd have gotten a picture of them with just the voodoo juice. I didn't look at the ones in the bubble buckets but I know they aren't doing nearly as well as at least two of the ones in the aerospring totes

Fuck those bacteria/enzymes, I h202'd the whole bunch, so much for expensive bennies.

Looks like your doing DWC, in which case enzyme products sometimes cause problems instead of fixing them. I would stick with the bennies if I were you. I breed my own and it costs me pennies.

Ancient forest EWC - $14
Aquashield - $16
ZHO powder - $16

The above materials will give me a six month supply of bennies easily. It's hugely diverse and freshly active. I start with 2 gal pure water. I add two handfuls of EWC, 10ml aquashield, 1/4 scoop of ZHO and bubble for 48 hours. It then keeps in my fridge for 10+ days. I add one cup per gallon of res starting out, and one cup every three days after. I put all the food (molasses, bud candy, ect) in with the tea while bubbling, and most of it is eaten by the time I use it. Trying to feed the bennies in the res caused problems; I just replace them every few days now. This is the only thing i've found, after trying a shelf full of sterilizing products, that will keep my roots healthy and stimulated in my DWC. The rule I go by now is NO organics material of any kind in a DWC.

I was just looking into info on a bennie bucket(only seen info once and can't find it again), one where I'd buy ONE jar of AN voodoo juice and put it in a bucket and breed the little bastards but your idea sounds much better, although I'm thinking I'm not gonna add any enzymes at all and as you say stick with only bacteria and fungi as additives. I may not even do that, my roots did ok on my first grow without any root zone additives and temps were insane, nothing but chemicals in the res though, thanks for the info, I have some re-thinking to do.

It would appear voodoo juice has been hard to get from AN, someone tells me they had a bad batch .

Wait theres more! My roots are sliming again!! everything above the water line in my dwc buckets look nice as can be, but everything in the water is slimed (including/especially my air stones)with this brown nasty stuff, I found more solid chunks in my other gallon of connoissuer so its going back today, I'm really starting to not like AN that much and its a shame because my first grow went so well with them. I'm picking up the stuff to brew my own DIY voodoo juice today!
