Snapped main stem

I snapped my main stem in the middle of my plant. I taped it up and the plant is now upright. It didnt snap completely.

I was wondering will it stunt growth while the stem heals. If it does for how long will it be stunted. Is there anything else i can do to help it heal quicker.

You have done all you can rearlly do, so now just be very kind and loving to the plant, dont cause it any more stress. As whiteberrywidow says watch for sines of a hermi as stress can cause this. If you do get a hermi you can either take the time and cut all its nuts off when they appear or you can folia spray wth dutch masters 'reverse' ( kills off male sex organs )

PS - You will proberlly get no further vertical growth but the bud development should only be slowed for a few days while the snap mends.

cheers all will look out for signs of hermie i hope it dont grow any more in height im just over two weeks into flowering and its getting to big for my grow room. If it does start to produce balls i wil try and cut them off and will put the plant in natural sunlight. Will have to take it out my grow room dont want it to pollenate my other females.

I aint got and pics my camera is broke gonna have to get a new one soon coz i want to take pics of my beautiful ladies.

U have about 2 more weeks of vertical growth. U will probably gain 33% more height. If the plant is 3 feet now, it will be about 4 feet (or more) in 2 weeks. Now is the time to top them if u want to save on height.

I topped one of my plants and only got two 100% sativas growing without being topped i will tie and bend them like i did before if they get to big. I dont want to top them when they are flowering and lose the top bud. I'm probably gonna buy some arjans haze 3 seeds as i like to grow both indicas and sativas and some 60/40 strains. I was even thinking of doing an autoflowering grow for my next grow.

The plant that snapped is a 60% indica 40% sativa been flowering for 3 weeks and is 31 inches high.

Do you rearly beleive he will get that much vertical growth when he's just had a stem snap. It seems to me what you are predicting is the normal growth of a fully healthy plant.

I snapped a plant in half and taped it back upright just like he said he did and it grew at least 2 more feet. I snapped it at about 1 1/2 feet tall. i just cropped it not too long ago tho.

Then I bow to your experience on the matter, I was guessing it would'nt grow much after a snap ( and i should have stated I was guessing )

Fuck you. smart ass.

It has nothing to do with being a smart ass, and everything to do that you were wrong, and he politely corrected you.

But hey, thumbs up on joining RIU just what, last week, and having near 200 posts and all the "f you's" I've seen you post up.

Dude, seriously....whats your problem?

you will still get vertical growth. The stem will mend itself. Kinda look like a hard jelly ball form in that area. Just like it looks at the joining of your main stem and a side branch. It will slow you about a week but keep on your nute schedule. You 90% of the time will not have hermi traits(in my personal experience) Some finnicky plants may hermi though.

when you snap a plant, it's critical that the outside layer of the stem remain intact at least in some point as this is where the most important flow happens. i've heard of people using paper towel, toilet paper etc to bandage it but you do not want to compress it mind you i've heard of tape being used as well and that must have been tight. when i snapped my plant i could not sit the ends together well enough and a bond was not created.
