Hello all! So this is my problem. Just last sunday I added some Carbo Load to my 10gl tub DWC and now I have brown somewhat slimy roots. Also there seems to be a bubble (sud) buildup over the water, almost like soap.

My setup is as followed:

10gl tub, ff big bloom, gh florabloom, gh vegan compost tea, Adv Nut Carbo Load and Adv N. ph down.

Theere are 2 bubble curtains, 1 round airstone and 1 long airstone. Things seem to be ok with the plant but the root thing seemed to happen when I added the carbo load. Is anyone familiar with this??

Thanks in advance!!!!!

I realize that the brown tint may be due to the Fox Farm Big Bloom but what about the Slimy consistency??

Is anyone familiar with Advanced Nutrients Carbo Load??? It is rather slimy.. Do you think it may be the culprit?? If so, Should I worry?!

Wow change that fast. I do not do hydro but i think there has been a biochemical reaction with the phosphorus. Wait for a currant hydro person. Peroxide may be in order.

Well not jelly per say. Its more of a smooth thing going on. There is no clumps of jelly matter anywhere. The roots are a bit slimy but no jelly looking stuff.........

It feels like if I ignore it, they may get to the jelly stage...

per se? any gelatinous funk is root rot and whenever I have gotten it, I had to anyalate them sice it can spread. Air stones and quality air pumps with redundancy, is critical in hydro apps

H202 at last resort, I have gotten away with using it, but apparantly I have been getting lucky, since its against my better judgment now!

Leach! the suds are salt buildup. Do you have a ppm meter. I found one on ebay for 15 bucks, new! if you do, take ppm and ph and then flush and check again!

h202 according to "ask eran" in maximum yield, cites in his thesis that h202 kills all forms of good and bad microbes etc etc. I used the hell out of it and had thik stemms, I may induce h202 again since I am a week away anyhow. just thought of that, your advice?
Peroxide H202 lots of hydro folks use it.

this is what scares me away from hydro somewhat .... too much to pay attention too
ive seen people do the h202 but their roots looked a lot worse

H202 is a no no for organic nutes. I have introduced the GH Florabloom in th tub a while back, so needless to say, my tub is no longer 100% organic as far as nutes are concerned. But h202 may cause more harm than good.

This may very well be the Carbo Load on the roots. It happened when I added the load into the tub. Is anyone familiar with this?

Flush, clean with the H2O2 then rinse. Hydro can go all bad faster than dirt. You are talking 24 hours and this is at the point of no return,
