Mutating Plant *PICS* ???

I have grown cannabis before but have never seen this. Does anybody know whats happening?

I started a bunch of seeds from a very good strain and kept the best looking 24 out of all that I germinated. They are 6 days old now and most are looking great. There are a few that are smaller than others but that always happens to a few.

Whats really got me scratching my head is a mutation on one of the smaller ones. It is short and stout and has a ton of leaf growth but it is all coming out of the same node it looks like. AND... the leaves don't look normal at all. They are mutated and look kind of like the webbed feet of a duck. Instead of the leave growing separate blades they all seem to be growing as one.

Has anybody had a mutation like this on the leaves or a mutation period? I'm really hoping this will turn out to be a female so I can see what kind of flowers it produces if any. Will it produce nothing or produce crazy weird looking buds... or will it turn out to make one big excellent bud and be the perfect sea of green candidate?

LOOK AT THE PICS AND TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK. THE CLOSEUP IS OF THE MUTATED ONE AND THE OTHER SHOT SHOWS HOW THE OTHERS ARE DOING

You see loads of mutants as you grow on,from small leaf syndrome to total weirdness.
No one can tell you what it will do,just have to wait and see.
I think you just have a bit of dwarf leaf there.
Everythings looking good to me so far, nicely done and good picsbongsmilie

you know I have a few grown from bagseed that look just like that.

3 all grew the same, just like those, with some weird looking single leaves like that, that look strangely discolored with different shades green. Also the shoots on these plants started immediately, growing at the same speed as the main top after the first two main leaves formed. I was actually going to post here about it, but never did as narrowing down strains from bagseed is near impossible.

It is a neat phenom though, as it ends up super bushy right away.

thanks nat and gr8ful

I wasn't really worried about them ever, just wondering if anybody else has had this happen and how they've been as far as growth, yield, and quality.

I'll try to keep updating this post with photo's of that one plant and let everybody see what happens with it. I'm very curious

the plants I have that sprouted like your mutant one are very bushy. they are still small as they are only 2-3 weeks old, but they all have alot of shoots growing already that are as big as the main top.

so far 3 out of 20 bagseeds have done this and its very noticeable. At first the growth almost seems stunted after the first set of true leaves is formed, as the auxin seems to be distributed evenly over the growing areas, not all going to the main shoot, and you end up with 3 shoots growing up at nearly the same pace, although gravity does let the main top get out ahead.

usually they will grow out of it but some take for ever, i find that if you leave them a bit to get more leaves, then give it a hair cut the leaves that grow back tend to be "normal" well after a few hair cut's, as 4 yeild it isnt a mutant in no other way other than looks the yeild if not the same will most likely to be smaller, the quality will not decrease though just take u a while b4 u get to smoke it
hope this helps bro :peace:

I guess this probably won't be an ideal mother then. Thanks for the info. Interested to see how this goes.

I've never done seed before, only clones, but this stuff was so incredible done outdoors and haven gotten totally seeded that I can't image how it will be under controlled conditions and sensimilla vs. con sensi.

Anybody know how long after going into 12/12 before I can start weeding out males?

usually they (the females) show anywhere between 2 days an 2 wks and rougthly the same for males maybe a lil longer:peace:

Here is a new pic of the mutant and the overall garden. They have grown so much in one day. Now that there is enough foliage for good photosynthesis I was able to do some pruning.

I took off the first two sets of leaves right before taking the pictures. They were shaded by new growth so I doubt they would have done much good for the plant. I'm hoping that removing these will increase growth to the new leaves. It has always worked in the past so I'm confident it will work again.

Well, you wouldn't have any problem getting busted. The plants are so ugly cops would think you are growin some ugly fucking plants and now beautiful Cannabis Sativa, Indica, or Ruderalis.

Could just be the root got stunted on that one. It looks like it's starting to fix itself already. The new leaves that are coming out now look more elongated and normal. I think it will be fine like the others. Best of luck to you.
