This is my first grow and I'll be posting pics as soon as they all germinate. This round I'm growing Exile, Monster, Pink Plant, Super Lemon Haze, Strawberry Cough, Arjan's Ultra Haze #1, Tangerine Dream, and Pineapple Chunk. They should all be in buckets by the middle of next week. This is my setup. I have a 64"x64"x80" room completely lined with diamond foil and I'm running the two 357 Mag Leds in vegetative mode for a couple weeks, then I'm going to hit them with the 1000w HPS and run the 357s adjacent, angled inwards. I have a 635 cfm fan to cool the HPS and 4 oscillating fans inside and I'm giving them the Advanced Nutes Expert Bundle with Connoisseur 2 part for base flowering and Sensi Grow 2 part for Veg. I also bought some GH Rapid Start for the seedlings and CalMag+ for flowering because I've hear that LED lights produce calcium and magnesium deficiencies because of the increased trichome production. I have the CO2 booster bucket and I'm putting them in 5gal Hydroton DWC buckets with 4" air stones and I'm attaching these plastic SCROG systems I bought to the buckets. I'm thinking that I'm probably going to veg for 5wks before I switch to 12/12. I'm running the veg lights 24/7. Pics will be up soon!! Oh, and I'm only doing 6 plants so I need help deciding which to keep and which to throw out. The Tangerine Dream hasn't even cracked after 7 days, so it doesn't look good for her. I'm thinking about either getting rid of the Arjan's or the Pineapple Chunk. Any input would be great!

Hey glad to have you with us for your first grow. Wish you the best of luck! That's a lot of different strains, and if you were going to only keep six then I'd get rid of the tangerine dream because I've heard a lot of problems with that strain, and I guess the arjan's haze if you're already thinking about it. never tried exile, monster, or pink plant but they have cool names so I'd keep them haha. Sounds like a badass set up, I like how you're going to angle the mags inward. I'll be subbed for this one for sure.

Sorry it's taken so long, but here's how the progress is going. The Tangerine and Arjan's stopped germinating. Idk why, but my pink plant started growing in circles and I gave up on it. It had about 7" of stem with barely the pod leaves. Maybe it was a mutant? Anyways, in these pictures, taken about an hour ago, Exile is 6 days old, Strawberry Cough is 9 days old, Monster is 8 days old, and Pineapple Chunk is 14 days old. I accidentally nute burned the Pineapple Chunk in the beginning and killed pretty much everything else, but I've learned some very valuable lessons. I've got a chart of the nutes i've been giving them, the number of leaves, and the height changes every other day if you're interested in me posting that. It's an excel document, though. Anyways, if you have any tips or recommendations, they are greatly appreciatedThe Room.jpgExile.jpgMonster.jpgPineapple Chunk.jpgStrawberry Cough - Pineapple Chunk.jpgStrawberry Cough.jpgThe Room (Inside).jpg

I apologize for the poor quality pics, I just used my phone and it overcompensated for the light and made everything really dark. I was planning on waiting about 4 more days before I hit them with the 1000 HPS. Is that ok? I'm just waiting for Exile to catch up a bit so the big light doesn't hurt her.

Unless, of course, you guys suggest starting that light immediately. I also forgot to mention that the age of the plant is in reference to the day I transferred them into the DWCs. I'm currently feeding them 2-part Sensi, CalMag+, and Rapid Start.

I would wait like 15 days before using the 1000W, ... seems like a waste of power, your LEDs should be plenty powerful enough, ... they seems pretty close too I think you can raise them a bit. Good luck, I am going to follow your progress!

Endoro is right your lights are way to close and i wouldnt put the 1000w in till your ready to flower in my opinion. As far as your nutes are you using the new ph ppm perfect expert bundle?

Yea, I've got pretty much the expert bundle, but I'm also using calmag+ and rapidstart to veg. Well, I checked them this morning and they all grew about 2-3" out and about 1" up except for the Exile. She grew about 1" up and 1" out. They're growing like crazy. Are you guys sure about my light distance? They don't give off much heat if that's what ya'll are concerned about. I have a high velocity cheapo fan blowing 24/7 on my air pump because I bought the one for 12 buckets because I heard the more air the better, and I have my oscillating fan running 4 hours on and 4 hours off. The temperature never gets above 26C or about 79F at the top leaves and it's normally about 23C or 73F. I'm keeping them about 8" away from my plants because when I spoke to the guy from the 357 mag place, that's what he recommended since they don't give off much heat. I've been meaning to ask about that air pump, though. Is it possible to have too many bubbles? With what i've got running, my 4" air stones make about a 2" bulge of bubbles on top of the water. Is that going to create too much turbulence for the roots?

Hey gargantuanganja nice setup! Looks very promising, two magnums and 1000W HID should flower your girls like gangbusters in there =D I agree with whats been said that the magnums *should* veg your babies no problem... I would wait to hit em with the 1000W HID when you switch your lights to 12/12. Also, 8 inches is not too close for LED panels in my experience... I have found that I try to keep my LED panels anywhere from 6 to 18 inches above my plants... Sounds like with the temperatures you've measured, you're just fine... GOOD LUCK! subbed and following along for the ride! Thanks for sharing =D

I have a question about the epsom salt. Has anyone used that as a remedy for hard water? I accidentally gave them too much calcium and it's locking out the Magnesium which I've heard you can fix by adding 1tsp/gal. I'd probably be more inclined to just add 1tsp to the entire 5gal bucket since I'm scared the salt might hurt my plant. Anyone have experience with this?

Greetings and thank you very much for posting on my comedic thread! I will return the favor with complete honesty. I am strictly a soil grower. Always have been, always will be. I am a big fan of the K.I.S.S. theory. So, I cannot in good conscience attempt to advise on this grow. You set up is awesome and I am going to sub as I love to see healthy babies grow. The only comment I have at this point is they look very nice! Good luck and +rep!

P.S. LOVE THE AVATAR!! LOL!!!!

Haha thanks, that's awesome. My next grow will be soil. I've heard great things. These are my babies today. I cant tell if it's nute burn or magnesium deficiency. My tap water is about 300ppm and I've got the Strawberry @ 800 ppm, the Pineapple @ 700ppm, the Exile at 480ppm and the Monster @ 700ppm. My temp is between 76 & 82 degrees.Exile 1-6-12.jpgMonster & Exile 1-6-12.jpgPineapple Chunk 1-6-12.jpgPineapple Chunk Leaf Damage 1-6-12.jpgStrawberry Cough 1-6-12.jpgStrawberry Cough & Pineapple Chunk 1-6-12.jpgStrawberry Cough leaf damage 1-6-12.jpg
