First time set up?

Hi all
This i my first growroom set up.i done alot of reading up but wouldnt mind some advise i built a box 6ft by 4 ft an 2ft deep closit got two 200 watt envirolte vegging lamps covered the inside with mylar got some biobizz all mix+biogrow+biobloom 10 superskunk seeds im growin in an apartment so i dont know wha im gonna do about the smell so what do you all reckon on my choice of strain an any help on ventilation an gettin rid of the smell would be great

for the smell get a carbon filter or make one I seen one awhile somewhere that you can make out of a 5 gallon bucket and carbon, try google it and you probally need more light in there I got a 5x4x2 box and I got 500 watts of hps in there

i was in the dam a while ago gettin toasted in on of my favourite coffee shops the greenhouse effect i bought a bag of greenhouse special an found a seed in there so i brought it home planted it an just left it in the window for light and put it under a normal household light at nite iv no idea what strain it is but its around 4 weeks old.i know im not looking after in the right way but it inspired me to get a proper set up which is nearly complete

The best way to do this is to buy a charcoal canister. These things work very well. I was doubtful myself but ended up buying one for about $600. They have smaller ones that are cheaper. You will just need to know how many cubic feet is in your grow room and select the right size for your garden. You will have to change the charcoal every year. I have heard that if you put the charcoal in an oven on warm setting for 1-1.5 hours then it will reactivate the charcoal.

Another way to eliminate odors is to buy an ozone generator. Ozone generators can be dangerous and can kill you if you’re exposed to large amounts of it. You will know when its on because it will burn your eyes and can burn your lungs. These don't work as well as I would think in your garden but putting one in-line with your exhaust duct (from charcoal canister) works pretty well. You will need a tumble box in-line and at least 25 feet of duct to make sure all the odors are neutralized. If you use one that is how I would use it.

nice box bro..did u build it??? .....Q: what r going to do to cover the front of the box for when u flower?? i have the same size setup im building.. i just got the rest of my setup- hydrofarm kit,lights,fans,and plants ready to flower....just have to set it up...anywho..the lights ur useing.. i know that they will cover the 8 sqft as far as watts go but why not hps or mh???..is it heat or cost???? im going to run one 400w hps and one 400w mh because u know what they say if 1 is good 2 is better..just worried about heat..and as far as vents go im going to run 3 60cfm fans 1 in and 2 out for negtive air dont know if that is going to work if not ill add more cfm's i perrty sure that mite work for u.....u will have less heat...someone has a diy carbin filter for like 12 bucks or something i like it and im going to use it....well sorry for long bla bla bla..hope i was of some help..good luck be safe and

Yeah i built it i still got to put doors on the front the reason im using two 200w bulbs is because im worried about heat issues well my girlfriend is really she thinks im gonna burn the place down i need to get ventilation sorted il have to get a carbon filter an some small fans although i readf somewhere that opening the door twice a day to look at them would be enough fresh air?corbon filter for 12 bucks where is that?

200 watt enviros are good for heat issues, i use 2 in a space 80cm high by about 60cm dep and 100cm long with a stand free fan and no windows with c02, have got 12 oz off clones wet. you have to keep lights within an inch or 2.

ok iv germinated my seeds now going to plant them in biobizz all-mix will this be ok?and stick the lights on an 18/6 cycle headin into town today to get a fan today just to keep the air moving an get strong stems

dont know biobizz but general type of compost b fine, i have used tomato compost and had no probs, after all they r only a weed and they grow n e where.

it looks great, to bad there isnt an hps in there

for the smell if you have less than 4 plants, get a few of those plug in airfresheners with the fans built in, and 2 osciating fans in the middle of the room. should do the trick

u need lights closer, look top pic my gallery and c how close.

I think heat would be too much of an issue with a hps im gonna get two 200w red spectrum for flowering an put one of my blue ones lower down among the plants good too know a few air fresheners would do the trick for the smell.i planted 11 seeds altogether an the bigger plant is from a seed i found in a bag o weed in the dam im screwed if there all females i wont have the room how many plants do ya reckon i could fit in there?

yeah this site has been playing up,see how close i got this.

i dont know how you got your lights so close i got this one 8 inches away and this morning the plant was burnt to bits all crispy like.also i think my timer stayed on all nite dont think my seeds will sprout either cos it was so hot

ok i cut a 4"diameter hole in the roof of the cabinet also a 7" hole behind the fan.air seems to be circulating now before when i opened the cabinet the air was hot and humid well see does this sort it out

reckon lose the foil,paint white, make sure heat can rise,kill the fan cause at mo that is just circulatig heat, mayb make a vent on top of cupboard.

yeah got the vent done also the fan is sucking air through a hole i cut thats mylar not foil

is that mylar white? be interesting 2 c what temp is nr under light now u r vented.does the shade have vents in it, i av 1 with and 1 not.
