**Should I start Flowering These two Beauties?** Advice please!

These two babies are Alien OG and Mad Chem. Alien Og at 7 1/2 inches and Mad Chem at 8inches. Im pouring straight fresh water and its the fourth watering. They are 23 days from transplant. Fox Farm soil with perlite added. I will be starting the fertilizer this weekend, the next watering cycle. Fertilizers are Fox Farm Trio. The pots are 2.5 gal. and 9 inches tall. So that gives me 35 inches of roof to fill up to the light distance. 35-8= 27inches remaining. Its under a 400 watt cool tube hooked up to a 6" duct vent with a duct fan. I have one intake fan and one circulation fan inside my grow tent. Now my question is, fter I just topped it, should I veg for another week or so, or just jump into flowering this weekend? Grow more taller first or what? Reply with your advice please, Thanks!​

I would trim down below and then top them babies. Spend more time in veg and it will pay off.

what do you mean trim up the bottoms? please explain

That's exactly what I did. You must fully read the first post again. I can only grow 2 feet more.​

I trimmed all the smaller nodes near the base of the main stem of all the stems growing out the main stem. There's only like 2-3 nodes from the main budding branches. I want high yielding tops from these multiple branches. That's why I'm giving a little LST. And I topped it.

if you have cut the top off you best leave in veg longer.............

The extra vegging isnt strictly necessary but it will definately pay off, when you see two tops of a decent size and structure, then you should switch to 12/12.

They lookbeastly. Let them veg 1-2 more weeks let some growth happen on the tops b4 u flower.

Well, I started flowering after the wait. I think it's the 5th day now. I'll see what happens from now. Thanks for the support.​

ok heres my take. flowering is very picky on nutes, you have to give em the right ammount right when they need em to keep em healthy. Just my 2c

Nice one dude. Alien og is one of my favorite strains, I would keep it in veg til they are at least 12 inches. By the way trimming it will increase your yield.

Why not top for 4 colas if you are trying to keep short plants?
