My girlfriends uncle and aunt have been growing for about 4 years now. And they have no idea what their doing. They have recently, in the last week or two, asked me to personally help them remodel and pretty much redo their grow setup. New strains, new lights, more lights, AC, and a bunch of other basic must haves.

This is basically a grow journal to document from the beginning of me helping them, to the end, the finished product.

At any time please add any tips or advice or anything from your point of view that you think would help. All comments are encouraged i want to hear what you guys, and gals, think would help.

When it started out it was just a tiny little shed on the side of their house. They were growing NYCDiesel from seed that they had purchased while in amsterdam.
The first crops came out pretty funky, real airy long nugs, had seeds in it, but it smoked good in joints.

Fast forward to now, they are using a good size shed. Have tons of spider mites, the temps are 100 in the middle of the day, plants are all falling over and dying slowly. They were using shitty soil from orchard. Water wasnt being phed, wrong amount of nutrients applied.
Basically they were doing everything wrong.

In the last two weeks i've starting making changes little by little.

We are now using Roots Organic Soil

Got rid of the shitty strains in the veg room.

Added three plants to make into Mothers. Gods Gift, Kushberry, and Qleaner backcrossed with Querkle (a strain i crossed)
IMG_1380.jpg

Removed all the dead leaves and lower plant matter from most of the plants, especiall his Sour Grape mother plant that we will keep.
IMG_1379.jpg

Brought 5 two foot t-5 bulbs and 2 four foot t-5's to add to the veg room.
IMG_1374.jpg

Took 30 clones from my plants outdoors (15 wonder woman, 15 qleaner)
IMG_1386.jpg

And cleaned up the grow room pretty well. Dead leaves, cleaned out trays, etc.

IMG_1375.jpgIMG_1377.jpgIMG_1376.jpgIMG_1378.jpg

By this weekend we shall hopefully have the AC unit installed so we can get the temps in the 70s hopefully.

So thats where i'm at. Its looking like this is gonna be a lot of work and time and money but i'm confident that we can turn this shed into a profitable grow for them.

I'll have some more specs up next time i go over there.

Once again at any time chime in and add your 2cents please

this is awesome. only thing i see is you should mount the flouros onto something like plywood and put chains on the back so you get the light closer to the plants and they dont stretch. cant wait to see the final outcome

move the plants and bleach everything... I have heard spider mites are tough to completely get rid of once there in.

Keep in mind you are going to want air coming in, and your exaust emptying the space 3 times per minute. So a 2000 cf room you would want a 600 cfm exaust fan.

Until the heats down your fucked, thats very hot.
More specs on the flowering area???

Yup i told them that the first priority is to get the ac unit in there and get that temperature down at the least below 80 for now.

After that we will focus more on the extermination of the spider mites.

And we will definetly be gettin those lights closer to the vegging girls.

We got the ac system set up so the temps are now between 65 to 70 where we wanted them

Turned off the 1000 watt bulb in the flowering room until we clean the room spotless and get all the circulation issues taken care of.

Ill be going over to visit the garden in two or three days will post some pics and have more updates then.

Just got back from the grow shed.

Plants are showing a bit of powder mildew, gonna get some SM-90 tomorrow to eradicate it. Once its gone going to be spraying weekly with neem oil to keep it away.

All of the Qleaner clones that we made are looking awesome. Very nice short and bushy. We set up a 6 lamp 4ft t5 hangning light today, and tomorrow wer're going to clean out the shed spotless. Wipe it down with some water and bleach and then fog it with some pyrethrum.
Gonna keep one sour grapes for a mother plant and we have a god's gift mother from Harborside Oakland.
IMG_1774.jpgIMG_1773.jpgIMG_1775.jpg

Gonna set up more t5's around the sides to add more lumens in this biatch.

So i just got back from my ladies uncles house.

Today we set up t5's around the sides of the plants to keep them well lit so they stop stretching like they used too. all his buds were falling over completely previosly becuase he had such a shitty amount of lumens for his plants in veg.
IMG_1786.jpgIMG_1789.jpgIMG_1787.jpgIMG_1788.jpg

Also got some fungicide to get rid of the powder mildew. onces its gone we'll start spraying with neem oil weekly.
IMG_1782.jpg

this bushy ass one is gonna be the Kings Kush mother plant.
IMG_1778.jpgIMG_1783.jpg

Was over at the house again tonight. The Qleaners are really starting to take off now.
IMG_1886.jpgIMG_1885.jpgIMG_1884.jpg

Heres one of the candidates for the Qleaner mother.
IMG_1879.jpg

Gods Gift mother plant.
IMG_1877.jpg

I have been trimming off all of the lower growth (lolipopping) to keep pest away and to force all the energy to the top of the plant, will give it better air flow also.

This is a must for me.

Ez-Clone Filled Up with OG Kush, Deep Purple, Agent Orange, Violator Kush, and Hindu Kush. Plants came from favorable outdoor plants in my garden.
IMG_1883.jpg

Did some LST with floss and duct tape on one of the Qleaner Mothers.

*instead of spraying bottled syn fungicide.. just use mother nature.. she woops ass 100%.. google some compost tea fungicide recipes, filter, put in bottle, spray for 2wks straight, and no more fluffy white pests :)

---btw.. im high.. just here to troll .. ;)

powder mildew sucks:(....theres some stuff called exel lg that works really good and its safe to spray up to the day of harvest, its clear and dosent leave any residue behind.
