Between 280-320nm is preferable. If you can, avoid anything that dips below those numbers. Get the Reptile lights from a pet store instead -the 10.0 UVB kind.

Yeah, the 26w reptile 10.0 UVB.

Run it 4-6hrs during the middle of the light period.

The Zoo med has this
  • Perfect for all desert and basking reptiles
  • 10% UVB Output, 30% UVA Output
  • Full Spectrum
While The sunpulse is all UVA??

And the other companys reptile light just says 10k UVB.....

I know i need the 10k Light spectrum....BUT wtf typical Band do i need more of UVA or UVB....

And Sunpulse being a "horticulture" company marketing towards plant growth would advertise there lights for "Last weeks Flowering" as a UVA light.....it doesnt say jack shit about UVB...so someone help clearify this bs...

or is the 10K spectrum, filling in parts of UVA and UVB light, and wut Zoo med is talking about is just advertising wut 10K light can already accomplish??? or are there difference between 10k lights emmiting, only UVB or ONLY UVA or BOTH.....within this 10k means....ARRGHGHGH

The other light says something about it having 30%UVA and 10%UVB.....So does that one ur showing me have more UVB, than -A ? this is the question, and why does Sunpulse market UVA Strategy when everyone says to use UVB??? wouldnt one using a UVB light burn plants because of its more radiant wave length and thus explains why the light run times are only 4-6hours? as opposed to UVA which would bring out this effect a little more slowley, hench "more like tanning the skin" which would allow longer more consistant run times? 12/12 instead for 2-3weeks using Highpressure sodium as well for mixed spectrum ~ reasoning for mabe sunpulse using UVA instead of UVB....?

Anyways, i think i am going to try the reptile light with 30% UVA and 10%UVB light instead...get 2 26W. see wut happens.....

Uh, yeah that's because ALL spectrums of sunpulse have UVB, and only the 10k has UVA. but what does it matter, if you're using a hood with tempered glass it blocks a lot of the UV anyways.

Jcazz,

I would ask SunPulse that question. Its a good question & I don't have the answer. Because of you, I will be emailing them that same thing. I am about to start running Lumatek's E-ballast. I would simply email them. They're good at replying back. I had a general question before and the owner actually gave me his cell# to talk.. Here is there phone#: (800) 667-9070 ... Hope that helps alittle.
