Did I score, or did I just haul off somebody else's junk?

Let me preface this buy saying that I'm an outdoor guy, and know next to nothing about lights.

Some folks I know just moved into a rental house, and there was a bunch of crap left behind in the garage. These lights were among the crap. They're 110V, 400W HPS, and they all work. Only came with three bulbs though, so I had to move them around to test all the hoods and ballasts. I traded four grams of my outdoor Blue Dream for the lot of them.

Unless you have really tall ceilings, you will want to remove the ballasts and make them remote. Probably the easiest way is to remove the bare components, there's just 3 parts, and put them in a new utility box. Depending on your indoor setup, you will probably want new reflectors too. The big bulky one piece units can go to the dumpster unless you can find a way to recycle (call a commercial lighting company and see if they want the donation). Each one of those cores is probably worth at least $50 so you made out like a bandit. I think 400 HPS are great because you can run ceramic metal halide (CMH) too if you want.
