I just wanted to let the newbies know a very important fact when growing out Cannabis.

"MOST CANNABIS STRAINS WILL SMELL "BIGTIME" DURING THE FLOWERING CYCLE!!!" :hump:

I constantly see new posts about the problems of the pungent odor of flowering Cannabis, and whats the best way to deal with it. :-(

These posts are from good people, who are simply inexperienced, and do not realize what there getting themselves into. :?

This is not a game, and the consequences can bring you real Jail/Prison time. :cry:

Bottom line, To help in staying safe, and best of all Free, Do not grow out a stinky Cannabis strain.. Not worth the consequences!!(cops,ripoffs etc) :neutral:

I see stealth grows, pc case grows, few plant grows, yada,yada.. but hardly anyone seems to ever think about what happens after you hit the switch and go into 12/12/flowering. :cry:

Lots of newbies will care more about yields, watering, nutrients, lights, Feeding, but you hardly see any of them concerned about the "Odor" issue. :wall:

Well, I believe it should be top priority. :cool:

No more stealth, or personal grows when they flip that switch.. :roll:

Everyone in the whole house/neighborhood will know what your up to with just one whiff... A dead giveaway. Its not cool.:o

People, you need to either buy very expensive odor removal equipment to help with the issue, or search for a low odor strain like "Northern Lights #5" :hump:

A beginner may say, "its only 2 plants", Not gonna reek that bad! :finger: This individual has no idea whats really going to happen when their treasured plants are nearing the end of the bloom process. They have no idea.

Guess again, "Its gonna be that bad"



They see the glamour shots of the well known Super plants like the White widow, Ak47, Skunk, or whatever...and they wanna grow it out, like now!... Without any research, or concern whatsoever. Grow, Grow, Grow!!! :-|



I agree, these are beautiful looking strains. Resin oozing out, Sparkling Crystals, and ever so potent. :o

But, the smell is way "TOO STRONG" for any indoor grow! :neutral:

These beginners need to slow down for a minute, and THINK!!! :hump:


People... You CANT grow out these kinds of strains in an apt, or anywhere near others.

It simply will not work! And thats the way it is. :roll:

The smell cannot be controlled. No matter what kind of Carbon Filter, or ozone generator you may have.

The smell will still be there,...or at least a hint will linger throughout the air.

And thats all that the authorities need to obtain a search warrant, and bust your ass!! :twisted:

Basically, I just wanted to get it out in the open, and let others know how important it is to buy a low odor strain, and the false idea that a medicinal permit will take care of everything. ;-)

This is serious business. Going to prison is not fun. Ive been there. :neutral:

Ok, you may say you have a medicinal certificate, and its no big deal. :finger:

Guess what, it is a BIG DEAL!! :hump:

The only thing that the permit will do for you is "help you out" during the trial process.

The cops/dea can still convict you and send you away for a good long time. :twisted:

They CAN come over to your residence, kick your door down, and arrest you at anytime.

They can put you through the legal system, even if you have the proper paper work in your growspace...I'll bet alot of you didn't realize this?? :shock:

The Fed's can and will overpower the states reccomendations/laws.

Dont believe me, read your local news, or better yet search the internet.

Obama straight up Lied about the Feds relaxing over Doctor approved Cannabis grows.


You are not 100% safe until the Fed's say you are. Its a large pill to swallow, But thats how it is.

im well aware of the smelling factor. i plan on getting a carbon filter before my girls start flowering.the only problem is that my grow box is underneath my staircase near a used washer/dryer. its totally stealth but i need i just need to know that there wont be ANY dank smell. you think one cf will do the trick? should i get another?

not true a carbon cold filter or ozone generator hook up to a air treater can make air smell like what ever air treatment you buy i am a newbie and im about to start growing 35 pots and i was going to use a ozone but i just now had to change location and you cant keep a ozone in the same room as the plants so i am going with a carbon

good post closet.. i have seen a couple of threads just this week.. help me out with the smell... lol.. my last grow, i grow out some super skunk, and let me tell you something, they call it super skunk for a good reason.. the second you opened up my cribs front door, you got whacked in the face with the smell of skunk.. it was really really strong.. carbon filters did little to cover the smell.. and some strains are just known to be stinky, say ak 47 for instance, and others are known to be less stinky.. its a good idea to know what your strain is gonna be like once the flowers start forming beforehand, cuz once they do, it could be much to late if you hadn't taken proper precautions first..

Dude,

Those carbon filters help a great deal.. But, they will not completely remove the smell.

Believe me, I know.

Best thing to do is to start out with a low odor strain like I suggested.

no problelm closet.. i agree with you that a lot of people plan out a lot of things concerning a grow, which lights to use, what nutes to use, soil or hydro.. the list is endless really.. but i do think that a lot of people really over look the odor aspect of growing even only a few plants..
just nice to see that someone cares about others..

Carbon Filters can only do so much bro..

People are so obsessed about the health of their plant, and how much they'll yield when they should be looking into staying safe... Thats priority #1 in my book :)
