Ok so they'll be growing on Saturday. I guess this will be a journal/build out thread.

The room is sealed. As with most indoor set ups there was some basic fab work necessary. Let's not even talk about building a whole new fucking room for this. I've got plent of room to double this up but I want to make sure I don't suck at this hydro shit first. Co2 tank is hiding somewhere :wall:

My babies are waiting for me and will be in the tray on Saturday.

Here is the sort of finished set up. Nothing is tied up all pretty but you get the idea.

That fancy rack is 2x4's and some paint. I couldn't bring myself to pay $300 for a rack. Used some wood I had laying around. Those long side boards are raised to fit into the trays grooves so it won't slide off.

Since I'm sucking air from outside to cool my lights I don't want it to get dusty in there. In 30min without this filter it got surprisingly dirty. I made this little frame thingy and cut a cheap filter to fit.

Fancy... :bigjoint:

I bought this used portable AC unit for a $100. No ducting and she's a little tired. I don't know if I'll make it through summer with just her. Anyway, her holes for the ducting weren't exactly 5" so lets just say I made 5" ducting work.

I popped the back of the unit off to get these in right.

She works. After a few hours the room was at 82 degrees. Not great but it might work. I don't know. Never grown indoors  I've got a wall mount fan and will definately have at least another floor fan. The wall mount doesn't cut it.

So thats the basics. Can't wait to get the kiddies in there. In a week or two when they're rooted out of the bottom of the 4x4 blocks they'll go on top of 10"x36" slabs.

12 plants total.

Your setup looks awesome to me. Would love to know where you found Green Crack seeds or are they clones?

Clonage...they're not too hard to find in Ca. I'm getting 13 in case one shits on me. If it doesn't I'll try to fit it in here or I have this old...really fucking old 250mh that I might put in the room just to flower lucky #13.

Dialing in these timers and my pump for my resi is my last thing to make it operational. The gear is there. I just need to get it all timed in.

Edit, I'm totally shocked how hot the exhaust is on my AC. Now I know why my buddy recommended the insulated stuff for the lights. It was the same price too!

Edit part Deax...Still trying to figure out what to do with this Co2. I know how to fill the room I just have no clue how fast my plants will absorb it...I need to know when to tell my timer to turn back on.

im doing an almost similar setup with rockwool but its 4x2 and 1 1000w light

ill be checking on your progress to get some pointers

Babies go in on Friday at somepoint. He's already feeding them at 50% so my initial RW soak will be around that.

Hooked up the Co2 today. Made this little set up. This is what happens when you have too much time. I tried making a littel Co2 sprinkler system so to speak. It works but the valves farthest away don't produce. I think I really only need 4 valves....not the 8 or 10 I put in. But it does work. Just like everything else it needs to get dialed in. I might just plug up a few of them till I get the spread I want. In the end the fans will blow it all over but I wanted to give this a whirl.

Took about an hour.

See this T, one is the Co2 Supply and the other two spread around the tray to other T's. Those other T's have the middle one pointing up disbursing Co2.

Like this

This is the first T supply line after I wrapped the tray.

Too many T's...we'll see. My priorities are going to change pretty fast at about 2pm tomorrow my clones show up. Then I'll have to level the lights, time everything, fill the res and cross my fingers :bigjoint:

The finished job was snugged up a bit better than these pics. But I had to do other things. But you can imagine...I'll update tomorrow once I get my res and everthing dialed.

A little bummed on the clones but they'll be fine. Why can't stoners deliver a nice healthy product. I've been cloning a whopping 6mo and mine look killer. Anyway, they're in.

This RO stuff is no joke. 500ppm is my tap water. If this PPM meter is correct it's reading 18. I'm going to use the calibrating solution just to make sure.

Many thoughts.

I picked up my Green Crack clones on Thursday of last week. Shouldn't have bought them but did. I got 14 and figured I could make a few of them really nice and ultimately have a mom. But still a shit clone purchase. I won't post pics till I save them. I'm that bummed.

I called the guy that hooked me up with Dutch Passion White Widow clones for some outdoor. They are exactly to me what I want in a clone...a baby tree. It shouldn't break if you drop it.

Bottom of the stalk is just shy of 1/4".

Rooted nicely. In a few days this would look really killer man.

I got the 70 gal res rolling and 10 of these WW in the tray. Got a number of the GC still in there too. Just 4" blocks. I wanna see what happens and I migh hack them up later into clones. In the end this will still be a 12 plant grow.

I can see how hydro can be less work. I can see how it would be more work. I'll let my finish time, yield and quality tell me where to go next. In SoCal fully sealed seams to be mandatory.

This WW did really good outdoors.

Fyi- Hyrdotek has a 70 gal res for $105. The bigger names are $225+...easy! Oh and if you want a lid to that new Hyrdotek $70 gal lid PM me :bigjoint:

Right now the game plan is 24/0 for at least another week. Everything will probably be topped only to keep the height down. My ceilings in this room are 7ft on average. After the res, tray and hoods you would be surpised at how little height you have between those two spaces. I built my rack within an inch of being how low it could be.

Just dialing in all the little stuff.

Very nice set-up. I have a very similar set-up. I just picked up the same portable a/c for 100 bucks on craiglsist too funny.

Today was warm in SoCal. Mid 80's. It kept the room to a max of 85 but my Dehumidifier at a setting of 40 was cranking super hot exhaust. Set it at 45 and it works easily less than half as hard. So maybe that kicked me up a few degrees. I was shocked at the exhaust temp and output of both the AC and the Dehumidifier.

That AC unit won't make it through the summer for me. Gauranteed.

This timer I got for my Co2 is pretty cool. Still overpriced. Guess that's indoor for you.

Quick edit...that filter on the intake for the lights is filthy after just days. Imagine no filter. So I cut up one for my AC intake. It's not outdoors though. It wraps the through wall fitting then I slid the ducting over it and used duct tape to snug up...hoser ay! I had rocks or little pebbles in my room from the AC. No joke :!:

Are you talking about the Green Crack clones? I tossed a few cuase they were that bad. I can tell four are going to be decent. I just put in the WW today so those have exactly 2weeks of veg and I do plan on taking some cuttings. The ones I had this summer would be fully rooted in five days. I'm gonna see what to do with the GC clones in a week or so. I could have three clones from one plant or I might just cut the stalk of a long stemmed plant and re root that one plant. They are that bad. Legs man...long and skinny. Super lame Grean Crack clones. I don't have a true veg room so a buddy I know is gonna grow them out for a month or so. Then we will really know what we will have. Feed, feed, feed and lots of light is our prescription.

My tray is set up for 12 beefy plants. I have 10 that shoud produce unless I suck. I want to try and do 10 WW and 2 GC's. Anything else is about holding onto strains. I'm sure there is a way to make chicken soup out of these chicken shit clones. They have roots and leaves.

A little update. Some of the GC clones are rebounding. I'll certainly have the two I need to make twelve with the 10 other WW's.

Here's what I got going on. 10 White Widows spread evenly on the tray and then off to the left are the GC. Today the GC looked much better. I cleaned them up a bit and in a few days I should have at least six good ones to do something with. Again, two will stay in the tray through the grow.

Check out the WW clonage. Nice. Little trees man. Love it. I topped everything today. I know it's a little early but I figure they're still stressed from the transplant so why not top them now and let them recover from everything all at once. Plus I want those two new tops to have a little veg time before I flip them. All should be well in a few days with the WW. They are aggressive growers so they could root through the cubes in the next few days.

My buddies water every 2 hours for 10min or every 3 hours for 15min. Both seem like a ton of water. I don't know shit about Rockwool so I got my eye on this. I think it's possible that since so much of the cubes are submersed they they may not need to be watered like they would if they were cubes on top of slabs.

Considering the GC clones are starting to settle in I figure I should just keep moving forward for now. I will be up north for about five days next week so I really want to have all this dialed in before I go. I have no problems watering every 4 hours for 15 min if I think they're getting soggy.

I also lowered the lights about six chain links. The RW should dry up a little faster now and make me feel better about my watering schedule. I might lower them another six links if they look fine in a few days.

Still haven't cleaned up the cables. But I'm still figuring out where I want everything. Not too messy though...

Here is the best shot I could come up with showing all the WW clones. Nice and healthy. If they go to shit it's on me :hump:

Checked on them today before lunch. After lowering the lights the new growth is popping wood. Praying. Some look a little soggy though. For now I might run my flood time 15 min every 4 hours instead of every 3 hours. The established fans are really green, soft and droopy. Photo's manana then I have to split to Pismo Beach for a few days :)

looking good. I have a similar space, but doing a top feed hydro set up. I need to get my fans set up like you. Your set up looks great. subscribed

Got some pics...I really need to figure out how to set up my camera so things aren't so yellow. Plus, I have to pull these girls out of the tray to take photos. You guys have talked about this before...a filter???

Ok so quick recap. I'm exactly 1 week into the White Widow grow. This was the clonage that was delivered. Super strong and healthy.

I'm really digging this indoor stuff. 24/0 of veg time produces some amazing results that I'm just not used to seeing. One week later here are a few of my bigger WW's. Keep in mind they are about an inch shorter cause I topped them to keep my height down. They aren't a foot yet but are a solid 10". Not bad for a week. :blsmoke:

Out of the 10 WW's I have about four that look like this. They have tap roots at the bottom of the new block.

Here is where I can use some input. This is my worst WW. She has that really dark green shiny look, a little curly here an there. Some yellow patches. She looks soggy too. She just might not be a good girl...not much I can do cause all the others look good. I've found that the draw back to a single reservoir is that treating one plant in a custom manner is very limited. My guess is she'll be fine. Feed her and grow her.

As you can see she is curling here and there and the inner new growth is funny looking. Not much I can do but grow her. She isn't that tall. Maybe 6". Still sort of healthy. As time goes on I'm sure she'll look a lot better.

On to the Green Crack...I still don't even want to post photos of what the clones look like. Here are my best ones. They have some hope. They will most certainly live an produce but are not and will never be at their best because of how they started. They are starting to look ok but could be phenominal. I think I will keep four of these and grow 10 WW and 4 GC.

These funny leaves are just larger versions of what I started with. The stalk is getter pretty thick. I think the the best four could turn into something. But I always wonder what if. A buddy of mine with a nice Veg set up is going to chop up my other GC plants just before I flip to 12/12. He'll make them pretty and in a few months I'll start with better fresh clonage.

I can tell these came off a flowering mom. Some three bladed fans and what not. They'll be fine but these are the best. Some have 6" long stalks with ping pong ball sized heads at the top with a few leaves. Lame...fucking stoners with shit clones. Drives me nuts. I will save them and make them better, stronger and faster!!!

Overall really happy with the Tray and the grow. I have found my plants, while in these blocks like my res to be in the 40-50 gal range. 70 gal flooded them too much and they got really soggy looking. I have added zero water in a week. Just more nutes. Co2 is at 1500ppm based on my numbers...filling the room every hour for 15 min. Res PPM is around 1300.

Most look really good. I had some odd coloring a few days ago and a small bump in veg nutes fixed that. Threw in some cal/mag and here I am.

Tomorrow is my first res clean and refill. After a day of running on the new water and what not I will go to 18/6 lighting for a few days. Once I have solid rooting on all blocks I will throw in the slabs and fill the res to 70gal and flip them to 12/12.

That's my story...

Where's that roach...:bigjoint:
