another probably retarted question. brought to you.. By me..:spew:
hope you enjoy laughing at me...

So I bought 1 70W HPS and 1 50 W MH... They are ment to be mounted as flood lights... And I think there motion sensored?
How do I wire them??? I tried the MH with just a regualr plug... and it didn't work... and there are no switches... So WTF?!?!?
 
I was thinking of doing the same thing with flood lights, try a local hardware/electrical shop nearby that might be able to wire it. But I ended up just buying a 250W HPS
 
How much did you pay???
I read alot of stuff on wireing HPS on this site... But when I try and serch shit on this site I never find anything... And I dont rememeber what it said to do... HELP US!
 
hid lights arent hard to wire, if youve got a cam snap off a pic or two of what youve got and ill try to walk ya through it as best i can
 
I just bought a 150 watt hps floodlight but it dont have night sensor.Did you cover the sensor? You have to make the sensor think its dark. If you didnt already try that.
 
Im uploading pictures now... I didnt try making it think it was dark... I didn't even think that could be the reason it didnt work...
 
I cant upload the imagis... I probably can... But I'm a super retard when It comes to computers... and electronics... which is why I need help... Its just a brown box with a 50W HPS bulb a litle sensor and 2 wires out of the back... Do All I need to do is wire it to a regular plug or is it more complexicated????
 
O.K.... So I did that... And the HPS works... even though its dim... But I guess 50 Watts isnt much... and it made some noises... which scared me.... And the metal halide isnt working at all...
 
no prob at all, and i was 3/4 stoned when i read your first post. i thought you were talking about you had a raw ballast (a ballast you have to wire everything). when i started useing HID lights i bought raw ballasts cuz they are dirt cheap. i got 2 of my 1000 watters for under 150.00 cuz they were raw. thats why i asked for pics. i didnt mean to over complicate things sorry, and good luck
 
wowowiwoa... 1000w for under 150??? where was this??? how much work did you have to do and what else did you have to buy????????
 
it was 150 for 2 new 1000w raw ballasts. they came with everything you need to make them work, but the light. the lights i bought where hortilux eye bulbs 80 bucks each on ebay. i got the ballasts from eagle ele supply out of south texas. it cost about 30.00 for all the stuff to make a cool tube. so alil under 200 bucks total for everything i needed per light.
and the wireing wasnt hard. they came with diagrams and everything is labeled. they also have a 800 number for any questions
 
Thanks! I'd really like to see this site... because the 50W sucks... I can stare right at it and go to sleep...
