First indoor closet grow....advice welcomed

okay so im growing in a spare closet. it is 5ftx4ftx8ft. im planning on having three plants that are only 3" tall now. i have two 42" fluorescent bulbs about a foot away on an 18/6 cycle. now i have 3questions:
1. are these the right kind of bulbs and should i add another set at some time. and
2. when should i switch my light cycles. and i was thinking of putting them on a 12/12. wouldnt that be when i start flowering?
3. could i run them 24 hrs a day or a 20/4 or 22/2 to accelerate growth?

Hey dude you lights will be ok for your veg cycle but move them closer coulpe inches unless there really omiting heat. Your veg cycle will last about 4 weeks depending on growth , Another way to gauge is that your plant will grow about 2/3 s more in flower so you dont want to grow them huge in veg . Now if you can get an hps light for flowering that would be your best option . And yes you can run your light 24/7 in veg i do i like the the growth but i think its bit of a personal thing .

so i read some of the faqs and the replies. and im gonna run them 24/7 for around 4-5 weeks to veg. then add two more flo for a total of 4(im poor i know hps hid would be better. maybe next time). and drop them to a 12/12 to flower. will they grow faster on 24 hrs a day of light?

but a quick question. on the lighting schedule theoretically could i drop the lighting to 12/12 at any time during the veg to start flowering when they start getting to big. i know it wont yield as much.

Run your lights at 18/6. Don't flower until they are at least a month old. Your yield with cfl's will be poor compared to an hps.

24/0 veg is AOK..especially if you are going for a quick veg.

You can flower a rooted female anytime you please to suit the size of your space...but if you don't veg for a bit your yield will suffer severely because there will be litle root mass to support top growth.

Foro will work..but as others have said..yield will suffer. you may want to READ about pruning to force the growth all to the top of the plant...with floros the light will not penetrate to the lower buds anyway..so it is best to try to gert as much bud from the "canopy" as you can and get rid ogf the lower growth that sucks tha plants energy.

Hey, just my input here:

24/0 is ok, but I prefer 20/4 or 18/6 because when the light is off the roots develop more. I think this leads to a bigger, bushier plant.

Also, you can flower whenever you want, just remember that the plants will get to about 2-3 times the size they were when you started flower, so plan accordingly.

I usually flower mine when they are around 10 inches. If they get to be 12 inches or more then without topping or LSTing, you are looking at
tall plant.

sweet thanks for the info guys... im actually gonna pick up some cool white cfls tonite. one for each plant to add to my flor tubes....
