clones slowly dying

i got a 25 site 2.5 gal botanicare aeroponics cloner. its similar to the easy cloner. whats wrong here is the top part of my clones where the new growth is, is slowly dying off. like they are kind of rotting away. i added aqua shield and power cloning solution as the directions said. http://www.americanagritech.com/fertilizers/power-series/power-clone-liquid http://www.americanagritech.com/supplements/aquashield when roots first formed i added about a tsp of fox farm tiger bloom to give a little phosphorus boost. also recently i added a few airstones. i have the system about 2 feet from a t12. also have a humidity dome. i mist 1 time daily. my ph is always within 5.8 - 6.2 like the instructions said. im thinking it may possibly be too warm. temps are around 75-80 F. also some roots sort of look like they're rotted, like a light orange or brown color. so am i right about the temps being too high? im fairly new to hydro. any help is appreciated. thanks!

sorry made an error, the tiger bloom was for a phosphorus boost. not nitrogen like i previously said.
 
i'm working with the same temps, my roots were slow to show and i was getting the rot like you are talking about. after doing a bunch of reading i'm thinking that we don't need to leave the humidity dome on all the time. from everything i've read the temps are within range for cloning.

Im running very similar to your specs too and I am having the same problem. It started with a section of my babies drooping. a few plants then died and they all ended up drooping and coming close to dying with a lot of leaf loss. It looked like they had been burnt.
But after about two weeks they came back. and are now fully recovered.
But the problem did not go away. it spread across reserviors and attacked my fresh cuttings too. To me that eliminates a nute issue since one res has nutes and the other does not (CLones) I changed both res and mixed new everything and no effect. Keep my room well ventillated and cool.

Im thinking my plants caught a 'flu' of sorts that i have not identified the cause of. Its the most logical conclusion at this point.
 
Can you post pics of the root rot?

My roots are brown too but only in the res that I have added Nutes. In my new clone res they are all white.
Its normal for roots to absorb the color of the nutrients...often brownish tint.
 
i will post a pic next time i go to my place where i grow. i noticed another thing, after adding my airstones, im getting a lot of suds in the water. also this brown shit is building up on the sides above my water and by my sprayers. could this be algae maybe? its made out of white plastic, maybe light is getting through. again, i will post pics as soon as i can. i grow some excellent shit in soil. but im new to cloning and hydro. thanks everyone for now
 
last night my ph was 5.8 and temp was about 76F. my instructions say dont go higher than 77F and the guy i bought the system from is pretty much an expert but i dont see him often. he told me dont go higher than 74F. i still get suds building up everyday. no more of that brown/orange shit seems to be growing. what i been doing everyday is give it a few sprays of this strong neem oil mixture i normally use as a fungicide for my soil and it gets rid of all the suds in my hydro system. i only do a few sprays though cause i know too much can kill plants. maybe this is also why that brown/orange shit is no longer building up. here are some pics i took. my new clones are looking a lot better but some still have that colored shit on them. one of them also looks like the top is dying.

they are looking a lot better since adding the airstones. maybe that was just my problem, not enough oxygen getting to roots. i think lowering the temps would sure help a lot though too.
 
water is to warm. no need for the tiger bloom. try using thrive alive b-1 red diluted to 1/4 strength. cuttings love it. IMO cloning water shouldnt be any different than temps in any hydro setup.65-68. and the sprayer themselves should keep it oxygenated enough. but airstones can only help.

i agree with drtybngwtr, you 70;s is fine for room temps but make sure you keep your water temps below 70, 65-68 is ideal in my opinion. pythium will start breeding (root rot) in water above 69 degrees. also kill the bloom nutes for the clones. thrive alive or super thrive are both gret for clones in diluted strengths. also check out root accelertors for your clones, the microbes are very healthy and your plants roots will blow up.
 
thanks a bunch for the info. i have a veg room at another place. the temps there are much cooler. would it hurt to put this system under a 400w mh as long as it was kept a good distance away? or maybe in the corner where there isnt as much light? i just dont want them to fry. my temps in there are close to about 70. i know you dont want to use a mh for clones but im thinking being far away would keep them from frying as long as i keep the humidity dome on. i just dont want to put them in and have them fry cause these are my last batch of clones from the mother sweet tooth which is now in flower. i'd rather not try to clone a flowering branch since im fairly new to cloning and very new to hydro.
 
its tough to say really, cfl's are much better in the cloning/propagation area but in the past i have used a 600w mh when they were only 3" tall, though they did have oots and all already. so i would say yes you can ust be careful with it. and if you can go with cfl's do that instead.
