I got this done a couple weeks ago and I was amazed at how fast they grew.
Here's the setup:
On the side I've got 4 pc fans blowing air in
On top I have 3 5" AC fans sucking the air out
My res is below the shelf. This is an under-the-bed container only 7" tall (18" deep and 40" wide) and will hold around 16 gallons (get it at walmart)
Ecoplus 3100 water pump (way overkill)
Standard 180degree sprayers in the buckets
I cut the buckets down so that they would have more room to grow
Put rubber weatherstripping on the inside of the lids to keep water from leaking out
Used flexi-plastic blank spray paint. This stuff doesn't crack or shed when dried on plastic containers. Get it at home depot.
Buckets drain right into the reservoir below
Two 27watt (100 watt equiv) 5000K daylight CFLs above each plant (12 total)
Each light setup on it's own rope so that precise light position can be placed (used cleats to anchor the ropes). I can get the lights within an inch of each plant even if some plants are taller than others. This is real useful if you are growing a mix of strains that grow at different rates or heights.
I used my home-made aerocloner for my clones. They had roots in two days.
I moved them to my veg box and this is how they look two weeks later. The ones in the back are 12" tall. I have to hurry my harvest because I'm going to run out of room
With this setup (including my 6'x4'x2' locker with 400w MH/HPS), I think I can do a perpetual 6 to 8 week harvest.
So, I'm showing off my box because it's working really well, but also to give other noobs some ideas for CFL grows.
