so here's my deal. i have just received an 8 spot hydro set witha 250 MH. actually its my roommates but i'm already growing in soil (check out my grow at my sig), and i have 6 of 8 clones that i already know have rooted in those small rockwool cubes. its just that the spaces on the hydro kit are made for larger cubes and i'm wondering how i can get these clones i already have into larger rockwool cubes or whatever. the other thing that i'm wondering is

i have really bushy soil grown plants, but this hydro kit has all the spaces REALLY close together. i'm just wondering if that will become a problem? i'll post a pic later i'm just lazy

so i just measured and my clones are in rockwool 3x3" and the hydro kit has areas specific for 5x5"

kiss-ass

it's not soil i just took clippings from my soil plants and put them into rockwool they're still rooting, so soil is yet invovled

For starters, i think your rockwool is saturated in water (too much), the roots will not breath, and you could get root rot.

Is that a flood and drain system?
If so, try find tall 5" pot and use clay pellets between the rockwool and pots, keep the rockwool up as high as possible from the flood line. Next time you cut clones use smaller rockwool, so you dont absorb too much water.

it's no flood and drain system, just a black bottom with reservoirs and a dome over it. thx for the advice realized i've been using waay too much water drained the reservoir i'll let em dry out for a day or two...:weed: first time cloning so i figured i would have some problems but i didn't even know i was having any until just now:-?

No, i meant is the third photo in your first post a flood and drain system?
If so, use a different medium rather than extra rockwool. Tall 5" square pots, use the other medium to keep the rockwool high enough from you flood line.

Buy the way, if all the roots are coming through like those ones, you are ready to transport them to your other system.

I know you already know this but just to verify what Fitz said for future readers....
U are way too wet. Shake those babies out, you dont want to squeeze RW as it crushes the air pockets. A nice sling with the wrist will get that stuff out.
That yellowing is a definate sign of overwatering.
Other than that they look pretty good man! GL with your grow buddy!

yea didn't squeeze em but gave a little flick of the wrists, should do it.

re the hydro, you know i have no idea, roomie just picke it up from a buddy of his i haven't even really checked it out yet,

how long could i keep the girls in the dome even tho roots are coming out like that? might take a week or 2 to get the hydro up and running (as well as enough knowledge for me to run it alright)

also, is it even worth it doing hydro with only a 250 MH? my 400 HPS is currently being used and i don't want to do it if i won't even yield much

Yes your 250 mh is perfect. Use it for the vegging, then get your 400 hps for the flowering. You cant keep them clones in there much longer. Fint out what that system is. It's either a dripper system or a flood and drain.
Is there a large rez under that white tray or a shallow one?

Oh yeah, the question about your plants being too close together. Well it is, if you are planning on growing biggish plants.
You could practice doing a SOG (sea of green), Top or fim them.

A sea of green would be something like Al B.s. Only using your grow for a one time shot, to get the hang of things.

Or you could FIM them a couple of weeks before you put them into flower (around 8" to 10" tall)

By cutting along those cuts (Topping and FIMmingit will possible sprout new colas, they will not be as big as the main cola but you will have more of them.
Just a thought.
