Just harvested today White Widow.

Harvested some of my White Widow today, I just took the top colas because they are ready.
The trics are about 75% milky white and what I harvested today is at 7 weeks.
I put my females back in under 12/12 so that the bottom buds can mature more.

Lucky you, had a widow in November and I am so sorry it's gone . She was a true lady in every sense and when you grind her, you see all the beauty of her white inside . Enjoy . Got a super lemon, 2 cheese and a purple haze on the go at the moment. But defiantly will do the widow again .

Going to agree with the others that you chopped early. Still lots of white hairs from what i can tell. Frosty though so it should still be some delicious smoke.

Yeah I agree as well, I could have waited to fatten up more,but I would of lost top potency. The majority of the trichomes are clear to milky white somewere starting to turn amber. I'm not one to give up on potency for a little bitfatter bud.
I like to harvest at peak harvest for me it much of a better tasting, burning and high feeling. In my opinion when majority of the trics are amber you already lost peak harvest.

lol, you lose potency by cutting early, not gain it..

LOL in all good you actually do lose potencly, but you lose it as well when you harest to late. When trics are clear to milky white you have reached top harvest time. When they start to turm amber you start loosing.
Also I never said anything about gaining potency when cutting earlie.

when they first start turning amber, and you still have clear, it is not losing potency.Those few ambers are just the first trichomes that appeared.All them clear ones are still new growth.Couple more weeks you would have damn near doubled your bud and had the same, if not better potency.Live and learn, its still lookin tasty though!

Thanks for the comment, I dont think anyone is being rude, just giving their opinion. I kind of knew I would get comments on this. But there are those who like to over mature in my opinion.
I meet Jorge Cervantes a few years back and I had asked him about when to harvest and actually he is the one I got the info from about when to harvest, its also in his book Marijuana Horticulture (pages 80-83).
But hey to each his own. Im only one person...

This is really a THC vs CBD argument. Different people will get different results from the same meds anyway. In that regard it is safe to say that potency has nothing to do with the calyx or bud size in general.

In my oppinion degrading is loosing potency...
