I just took my first sample from what I have had drying for about 4 days in about 60 degree temps. Just a small pinch of a popcorn bud, enough for one good bong rip and WOW! It hit me right away, and then keppt getting more and more intense. I harvested at the PERFECT time! Mostly head high, tons of energy but just the right amount of body love! Best bud I've ever smoked! And it tasted nice and mellow/smooth with a touch of fruit. I'm hoping it just continues to improve while I cure it. It's drying in an 18 gallon rubbermaid. I have a 78cfm PC fan exhausting air from the box. There are about twenty-5 half inch holes lining the bottom and the lid is half open at the rear. That kept VERY gently whisper of air entering the box to keep air movement over the buds with out being forcefull like with a fan blowing on them. It also helpsThey are just to the stage of feeling crisp on the outside, so I may paper bag it for a few hours and throw into jars.

Here's some pics. First you see the drier. Then some various shots of different buds and the cola. This is a LR#2 BC Mango cross, and this is the smaller of the two plants, but considering that and this is my first grow I am quite pleased. Also, I'm a big dude and have large hands, so you can see the main cola is longer than my hand. Not bad for 90 days from sprout to finish!

if the leaf is crispy but the stems bend without snapping then it's ready to put in a jar. i'd trim all that loose leaf off though. it tastes icky when smoked.

I trimmed everything that didn't have a fair amount of trichomes. Everything you see was still pretty frosty, plus I think it looks badass- matter of preference, of course! thanks for all the good feedback guys!

Do I trim the buds from the stems before jarring?

Thanks, I am quite stoked! I just felt again and i think they need to dry just a touch more, some of the leafage is still on the soft side. On more day maybe! The drier is working out perfectly. i didn't want to dry too quickly bud didn't want to wait ten days, either.

Really? No offense, but I think it makes your buds look....not as bueno. I mean, I want to smoke some bomb BUDS, not some bomb LEAF.

But hey, to each their own I guess...
Yeah man, none taken it's cool. I'm not saying I don't like the clean shaven look! I love really tidy bud, too. I've just always been attracted to things that are raw. Like knotted alder cabinets and artists like H.R. Geiger. I'm fascinated by decay, rust, those kinds of things. I like to SEE the dead flower I'm smoking, and trimming it less leaves a visual reminder. Again, it's a preference, not everybody's thing.

I realize that my previous post may indicate that I'm dark or something. Not at all, I'm a very energetic, upbeat person. And I'm not a HUGE H. R. geiger fan but I've always really liked his stuff, ever since I first saw Alien as a kid! But I'm still a total nerd who likes Star Wars.
